Well, I can see why he's saying it. Needs to be up for the game having lost 4 already - and a bit of luck probably would have got them a game or two..

george, I wouldn't get too exercised over it, it's a classic coulda/woulda/shoulda comment that any country's player would mke about most matches that they lostgeorge doors wrote:Six Nations: Scotland could have won every game - Dave Denton

Ifs and buts. Another classic cliche really isnt it that helps no one. better to start again and win at all costs. Winning ugly is very underrated!

I would think what Denton alluded to was the fact that they did compete in every match, they weren't out of it in any match. Bar perhaps the Wales match when they conceded two tries in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Re: Nothing like a good laugh on match day
I read into this further ammo for the 'Robinson out' brigade. The frustration of a player who feels he and his teammates reasonably could have done so much better than they did. Denton's comment is not unreasonable in its intent. Scotland have not been played off the park for 80 minutes by anyone this year. And such inconsistency normally ends with fingers pointed at the coach(es), as well as the players themselves.

He was correct , however not a mind set that helps there situation.
I think it was proved when they talked up beating wales in cardiff by 'outplaying' them rather than going into the game with a game plan and playing under the skies!!

He's been drinking the same stuff Croft has, Wales and Ireland took Scotland apart when they strung a few minutes of decent rugby together.

Well done Italy. Do you think Denton thinks they should have won that game.

Agreed, its funny how when England did it (i can just about remember in the dim past!) it was even more underrated!
I think a lot of teams learn to win ugly as a base to push on and develop more complete attacking game-plans. I expect, and hope, Wales add more strings to their bow after today for example.

Probably, Scotland will say they were unlucky.
