All Out Cricket's Discussion Of The Week - Who are you backing for silverware in 2012?
This week on www.alloutcricket.com read Chris Airey's interview with new Derbyshire captain, Wayne Madsen:

As the 18 county sides begin their final preparations ahead of the new season, we want to know who you're tipping to go well in 2012.

I want to say Warwickshire, but I fear that our very nearly effort in just missing out on the title last year was somewhat of a peak, and I expect a rather more mediocre season this time around.
Madsen is right what he says about the T20, that is the one competition where it really can be a lottery (though obviously influenced by doing the basics exceptionally well).
Nottinghamshire look very strong, for me, and I'm tipping them as the side to beat.

Don't think anyone expected the title to go to Lancs last year, however with our young side who've mainly played their whole careers at OT we have a fresh attitude. Moores has done a fantastic job as well. No reason why we can't defend our title but as ever with us the weather will have a major say.

Fancy Northampton to kick on and get to the T20 final.

If Somerset don't win something this year, serious questions have to be asked of some of the people there. The T20 especially. I can see some sides getting some absolute drilings at Taunton.

The somerset T20 side is scary, Marcus "bangers" Trescothick, CK, Chris Gayle and Albie Morkel Best bring your hard hats.

Genuinely, if they get in a small ground or an absolute road at Taunton, then 300 is only 15 an over.
Highest total is apparently 260 for Sri Lanka against Kenya, I fancy Somerset to break that!

Agree that if Somerset don't win a limited overs comp then they will have seriously underperformed.
Yorks really ought to get back into Div 1. I can also see Hants coming back up
Middlesex might do quite well in Div 1, but I predict the Div will be fairly open....

Nobody backing Warks for anything then, let's hope we show you!! Must admit, without Woakes for the first chunk of the season we may well struggle.
