Who was the greatest 6 of all time?
BLINSIDE FLANKERS/6 Greatest XV Ever - voted by 606v2
Same again. This time pick the 6-esque flankers. The Iceman has got the 7 spot tied down so I am not making him available for the 6 spot even though he would quite possibly get this one too!
I've deliberately put some current players in to see how they compare to the greats in your minds
Tell me if I've missed any

I have gone outside of the box and elected the destructive force that is Serge Betsen. I find it very hard to choose on this topic, hence why there are 50 choices, almost certainly missing a couple more (I had to delete a few)- kind of regret putting the modern 6s in now!

Richard Hill. Arguably England's greatest player of all time, and the single biggest difference in the 03 WC semi. Assuming Jones isn't on here because he won the openside poll? He's probably the only other who'd be in with a shout IMO.

Yes. I asked whether he should be there or not and someone suggested not to do it

Well despite wanting to go for Lydiate due to him still being young and loads to prove over a few more seasons yet and the obvious family urge to vote for my Uncle Clive (Burgess RIP) I went for Jean Pierre Reeves.

Since you won't let me vote for Jones I've gone with Kruger - mainly because I don't like seeing a grown Biltong cry.

Not a lot for NZ here where the best of ours were really 7's here. I'd never pick Reuben Thorne in any positive list so I've gone for Kruger as well. When he was mentioned the other day I hadnt heard that name for a while- the first ever world cup winner to pass away from memory. John Drake the second.
Hill is probably the best one here but I just didnt see enough him to comment.

Simon Poidevan is revered here, but is not in the list. I never watched him play (nor many of the others to justify myself), but he's from a town not far from me and has a face like a dropped pie so I'm voting for him in the 'other' category.

Well I am more of a chilli spiced piece of beef biltong, so if you can stand the heat, I suppose one little bite won't hurt.

I'll need something a little stronger, considering you'll be the one doing the biting.

What a group all together in the middle of a poll, Ian Kirkpatrick, Graham Mourie, Jean Prat, Jean-Pierre Rives , John Jeffrey fantastic stuff.
Graham Mourie. By the way a number of your blindsides were mainly opensides and rarely blindsides.

I watched Richard Hill throughout his entire career and still didn't see that much of him.
Just what I want from my number 6 and that is why he got my vote.

Richard Hill. Can't believe someone's actually voted for Dan Lydiate.
as maestegmafia said, guys like Neil Back and Heinrich Brussow are opensides.

I am surprised Taylorman doesn't rate Juan Smith, he has seen plenty of him.

Serge Betsen once said of Hill, "he comes from the shadows, from the darkness".
I have always loved that line and coming from a fellow great backrower, it just about sums Hill up perfectly.

That's it for me. Didn't need to see the poll - just the title of the article and I thought Richard Hill..Mad for Chelsea wrote:Richard Hill. Ian Kirkpatrick is from a long list of NZ open side flankers, not blindside. Same can be said for Graham Mourie and I'm pretty sure Greg Cornelson was an 8

I voted for Hill, just edging out Juan Smith. With Jones on the openside I want McCaw on the bench (with Jones switching to 6 or 8 as required if one of the others goes off).
