Time saving idea Empty Time saving idea

Post by Weybridge Welsh Wed 21 Mar 2012, 8:00 am

On Sunday, I sat down with a pen and paper and worked out that in the last 4 years I have wasted 3 days, 14 hours and seven minutes watching scrums being reset. In that time I could have redecorated my front room. Any solutions to this waste of time gratefully received.

So that equates to me drinking tea for 3 Days 14 hours and seven minutes if I have been watching the same amount of rugby.

Solve the problem? hmmmm, the perennial question. Most of the responsibility falls with the referees in my mind. Even more so with the bloke incharge of directing referees Paddy O'Brien for not identifying and resolving issues.

Some refs seem to find it very hard to identify problems, they get frustrated, players get frustrated. Some are pedantic sticklers, they are the worst, at least if both teams are strait up penalised all the time then we get on with the game.

I suppose we need to see rugby in the same light as cricket then. I usually have novel at the ready when I watch cricket (for the boring bits)

The big question is, how much extra time did you lose working this out? Wink

A novel idea Bil.

I have the kettle, tea pot and some times the bread butter and ham on the side ready to go too, though with some matches, invariably George Clancy's I have cooked a three course meal for twenty people during the resets.

Pardon the pun. Very Happy

Yeah, scrum resets is like advertisements during tv shows, those you can record an fast forward through the adds. Problem with watching live rugby you can't.

Lose the hit. Front rows engage, build the scrum, push when the ball's in.

Remember that.

Funnily enough, it worked

That is how it is done at primary school for my son's school age rugby. It does still work.

It works in Rugby League as well. I wish they would go back to that.
