Whatever else happens today, surely today has been one of the best first days of the Crucible in recent history?

Given that it's now 9-9, and form goes out of the window would you still fancy Wenbo Billy?

As Higgins is the best match player ever I fancy him to win it. I'm quaking though, if Higgins goes out I don't really have anyone else to cheer

Brilliant days snooker, a 147 and a final frame decider. Don't ever change this format and MJW can suck a lemon.

Excellent honesty from Wenbo, it may cost him the match but great honesty

Re: Who will win this years World Championship ?
Those comments flummoxed me. It's like Allen in Haikou. Hated the place but still won it. Maybe MJW was thinking along the same lines.
Higgins fan number 1! I'll cheer on Hendo, Maguire and Dott but I don't expect them 3 to do anything. I suppose I have to back Robbo seeing as I've been singing his praises for weeks now.

Anyone in any doubt that online gambling is a mug's game just needs to check out who's sponsoring this tournament.

I'll just always wonder why it was him they chose to "set up". He'd have been my last choice given that he's won a fortune and came across as the the straightest guy on the tour.

A mate of mine met him once and said that he is one of the nicest guys he has met, gave him tips on his cue action,

I remember one Asian player had the highlights. Can't remember who it was.
Is it just me or has Higgins not played well for exactly a year now?
Happy? Quite. Relieved? Definitely!

Oh I'm sure he's a top bloke but ££££ for losing one frame in a match you reckon you can win anyway and even if you don't so what. I'd do it, but it still breaks my heart that he may have. I'm a hypocrite for sure.

I repeat, what a day for snooker. A guy loses a last frame decider having called a foul on himself, that's sport.

Not too long ago. Maybe about 6 years ago. It wasn't Un-Nooh. I just can't remember.
Unlucky Liang. Hope to see him back up the rankings again.

They have so much cash they can afford to sponsor a snooker tournament to the tune of £1.1 million.

Yeah I just wish I could blank it from my memory. He wasn't ever my favourite but he wasn't one I wanted to lose (unlike surly Ron) but now, I'm not so sure. Great effort tonight though. I mean, he's a brave man to commit to losing 9 nine frames!!!!

Why does that make online gambling any different to a high street bookmaker though?

Snooker The Fine Art © Method
A secret is wasted if not shared
Dear Mr Rusty
How are you kind sir! Sorry about the lack of schooling but like my present posts show; I was a bit of a rebel and didn’t take kindly to “Instant Obedience”.
I left Saint Columbus High school in Greenock (Unofficially) at twelve! Was persuaded back at thirteen and left officially at fourteen in year! 19-37.
Please don’t blame the School mister Rusty as it was there that I was asked by Mr Maguire our maths teacher the following question How many times would a billiard ball with a nine inch circumference roll on a twelve foot billiard table? My answer was “Once” which had me ejected from the class again.
Snooker balls Mr Rusty do not roll and can’t be made to “Roll”. The ball is moved by thrust force with centre striking in “Skid” motion but when the ball is addressed off centre it also revolves in that specific “Axes” whether 4 to10 or 2 to eight.
By the way my educated friend this bit of copyright knowledge applies to all “Balls”. The golf ball may “Roll”! But will only Roll once before becoming stationary.
For the record Mr Rusty! The above information is part of the “Fine Art” snooker programme that has been recorded copyright to offer to schools as a © sport subject at both “O” and” “A” level with a touch also of elementary physics. Mr Hey You

Great first days play. It had everything. Did I hear right as in if Hendry wins through (looks highly likely now) he plays John Higgins in the Second Round? That being the case and going purely on their performances today Hendry will fancy his chances.

Both online and high street gambling are mug's games. Whilst there's nothing wrong with the occasional fun bet, the amount of people who regularly pack out the bookies week in week out ensures it'll be a long time before you see a bookie, online or High St, go into liquidation.
