This feels like some reverse lineal stuff again.
Anyway - interesting mate, dread to think how long this took. Floyd would be gratified in his assumption that all roads (but the one that leads to Mares) lead to Floyd Mayweather - judging by the bearer of the medals at 48, 54 and 57kgs

Floyd also has the 63.5kg one from Sydney and the 54kg from 1992, and probably a few more when I get round to it...

What happened was the standard went down in 88....Todd Foster..Kelcie banks etc...
The 84 team for me was full of all the potential 88 lacked....

That Park Si-Hun never did much after winning Gold did he. You would think a man who beat the great Roy Jones Jnr would have gone on to do so much more

Terry Silver was the guy. I actually watched that one in the cinema when it first came out. Looking back thought the first installment is the only one of real re-watchability
The only film series iv watched where the third installment is the best is the Rocky series where Clubber Lang wants a shot at the title if Balboa has got the guts to meet him in the ring or anywhere else...

Re: Whatever happened to...the gold medals from the 1988 Seoul Olympics?
agreed but the third one had great comic value....
Especially the speed of Silver's punches and kicks against the old boy!!
Like Rosario after Chavez...he seemed to lose his speed and effectiveness all of a sudden!!

Re: Whatever happened to...the gold medals from the 1988 Seoul Olympics?
Always remember years ago me and my father having a punchup one night when I came home drunk (its normal in south Wales)
I remember dropping in the classic Silver to Miyaga line of 'Come on old man...lets see how good you really are'
After dropping him with a right hand I was going to revert to the classic Vader to Obi-Wan line of 'Your powers are weak old man' but my mothers shouting and screaming put me off

He's been a bit busy of late - however, he assures me he'll be back around when he's available.
