Re: Miami MOTD - Djoko and Fishy
Fishy looks as if he is rediscovering some form - I really like Monaco, but think he might be fishy's on a plate!
I haven't seen Novak yet this tournament, and Ferrer obviously on fine form - could be the match to watch

Fish has played well. His match against Almagro showed some real fortitude. I think after each break of serve he held to love on his next service game.

Anyone but Nole in the final would be a massive upset/surprise for me.
I hope Nole does the job in straights.
As for Fish Monaco....I'd like Monaco to win, just love his drop-shots.

I agree.
Whenever Ferrer meats Djoko, he can't get into any of Djoko's shots and create anything. I reckon Djoko in straight sets and Fish in 3.

Will that not make race to #3 also very interesting? Just asking

Could well be. I think if they are all close, it's much easier for any of them to grab a patch at number 1.

I wouldnt mind a different final for a change....Fish vs Murray! (probably not much of a crowd draw though)

I would be amazed if Murray reached the final. Simply amazed. In a good way.

Would be chuffed if Murray could snag Miami. Would make the Clay even more interesting.

Strangely I feel Fish is playing really well. His BH up the line has improved a hell of a lot and he is serving well.
I can't say I am looking forward to Nadal v Murray. Scrappy affair written all over it.
Fish could push Djokovic. Isner done it so he might gain some confidence from that.

Almugro lost interest in the Fish match, otherwise he could have won that one.
Murray-Djokovic (if Murray can keep his head together against Nadal).

Murray knows Nadal's game inside out but has tended to fall short - one can always hope the Tokyo win will give him an edge this time.
Unfortunately he looked waaay out of sorts against Tipsy so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Re: Miami MOTD - Djoko and Fishy
didn't Murray have stomach problems against Tipsy though? Didn't see the match but it was reported... Hopefully he'll have recovered for Nadal. Ferrer is playing well at the moment, but I don't think he can hurt Djokovic on this surface. Fish-Monaco looks like an interesting match-up as Monaco is usually one of the top returners on tour so should be able to create some opportunities on the Fish serve.

I find Almagro an almighty frsutarting player to watch...talent, shots, etc...but never seems to have the fortitude to pull it all together. Kind of another Gasquet in a way.

Re: Miami MOTD - Djoko and Fishy
Well for tonight's matches I see a relatively straight forward win for Djokovic - probably 6-4 6-4 or something of that ilk.
As for the other match I think Fish will come through as he has looked quite handy here and though Monaco has done well to get this far I think tonight will just be one match too far for him.

Does anyone here have any points of advice for Ferrer?
No-one gives him a prayer, so lets put a compilation of points and send to him as a podcast!

Re: Miami MOTD - Djoko and Fishy
Ferrer just has to hope its an off night for Djokovic and a good one for him!
Seems he can only win by attrition, he doesnt have the weight of shot to knock Nole off court. That said there H2H is closer than you'd imagine so Ferrer may be one of those bogey-men that Djokovic doesnt like player....like Safin was against Santoro!

Re: Miami MOTD - Djoko and Fishy
If Djokovic is playing reasonably well then ferrer has no chance.
He has no weapons to hurt him. His inside out FH is one of the best in the business but Nole is such a good retriever that he will negate this.
The H2H is nolonger so relevant. This Nole is much sturdier. It's highly unlikely that Ferrer will out grind him. Even Nadal seems unable to do that these days.

Monaco off to a great start against Mardy Fish as he takes the first set 6-1.
Fish very wayward but Monaco is buzzing here there and everywhere and unless Fish wakens up this will be a walkover.

And Monaco is a break up now in the second set and is really steam-rollering Fish who just has no answer and seems really pretty flat.

Pico just cleaned Fish in straights 6:1 6:3. Can't make my mind up whether Monaco was that good or Fish was that bad.

Good news for you Tenez...
Your favourite pair of Paes-Stepanek are set and a break up in Doubles Semi...
They are repeating the performance of AO Final here I see...

This is Djokovic at his best. He really looks in the mood. Seriously impressive.
As good as Ferrer is, I'm not sure what he can do. He doesn't have the imagination of a Federer or a Murray to try something different or the adaptability to change the way he's playing... He's just got to hope that Novak's level drops.
Doesn't look likely.

You wish Ferrer had a more penetrating slice, or a bit more power... Just something other than consistency and great movement. At the moment it's like Djokovic is playing a ball machine!
Mind you, thats a great pass...
