First topic message reminder :

Here is where you will post your tactics. At the top of your tactics it should be the Group you're in, and the fixture for that week. Failure to do so will result in you being made to look stupid.

The tactics required are;

Starting XI and formation
Substitutions (maximum of 3)
Brief description of your gameplan
Final words from you (the manager)

Week 1
Group A - Poland v Greece
Group A - Russia v Czech Republic
Group B - Netherlands v Denmark
Group B - Germany v Portugal
Group C - Spain v Italy
Group C - Republic of Ireland v Croatia
Group D - France v England
Group D - Ukraine v Sweden

Quarter Finals Germany v Portugal

Team Talk:
It's the rematch from the group stages and one in which we want to finally show we are the supreme race team. Whilst they will demonstrate strength, discipline and ruthless aggression, we shall drive to victory with passion, flair and mediterranean style. Fluid movement and trickery shall be key, let's wink our way to the final!!!

L = Legend

Eduardo
Pereira --- Carvalho (L) --- Pepe --- Coentrao
Moutinho --- Deco (L)
Nani--- Figo (L) ---Ronaldo
Eusebio (L)

Subs: Alves, Rafael, R.Costa, Fernando, Meireles, Veloso, D.Costa

GK: Be vocal to the back four and instruct them at all times, command them!
Look to catch the ball and throw the ball out to the fast paced wingers and hit Germany on the break.

FBs: Both FBs have pace and excellent timed tackles at their disposal which will be key in thwarting any German threat down the wing especially from Lahm coming forward, look to ensure any attack is held up and pushed wide, time tackles and put the ball into touch. Come forward when available which keeps their fullbacks in their own half.

CBs: Great understanding between the pairing due to playing at club level as well, likely to be facing the pairing of Gomez and Klinsmann again, if so then Pepe is to niggle Gomez early on and knock the big fella out of his stride, he's a confidence player so if he fluffs early on it'll destroy him. Carvahlo to contain Klinsmann, nothing extravagant at all times, simple dealing with the job in hand and getting the ball away from danger areas.

CMs: Moutinho to harass Ozil and be a terrier box to box, use the excellent stamina you possess to never stop working in the centre of the pitch and cover that ground to be always disrupting the German engine. Deco is to be there to stretch the German team, use your intelligence to be constantly looking one step ahead and use the vision and creativeness of the players in front of you to move the ball into space at speed.

AM: Movement is key from Figo, 1 touch passes when available past the fullbacks for the speed of the wingers to latch onto. Don't be afraid though to mix it up and take ball under close control and shoulderfeint and trick your way into the box. Interchange at times with either winger to drag markers out of position to again increase the gaps to exploit. When needed track back and provide assistance in the centre of the park.

WGs: Speed and trickery, both can play on either side and both are comfortable to take the man on or drag it inside so I want the attacks to be fluid and always have the fullbacks unable to second guess. Once again we want to target Boateng as the weak link at the back for Germany and exploit it. Ronaldo to up the gears on him at times and leaving him left in your dust.

ST: Eusebio, one of the best finishers the game has seen, I want movement and vision, use your explosion of pace to beat the offside trap. Look to work neat and quick one twos with the AM and wingers to break free of markers and then hit a blistering shot into the corners of the goal.

If losing at 70m: Bring on Douglas Costa for Figo, use the youngsters speed and bag full of tricks to increase pressure on the left fullback whilst Ronaldo takes up a free role where ever he can exploit. At 80m exchange Moutinho for Meireles and have him attempting shots from distance.
If winning at 80m take off Nani for Fernando, have Fernando sit in front of the defense whilst Figo drops back and Ronaldo partners Eusebio up front in a 4-1-3-2 formation. Use the two forwards speed to launch counterattacks or go into the opposing corners to waste time.

Estamos em Portugal, seremos vitoriosos!

Team Talk
Same Team as we have been using, you should all know now and you all know what I am expecting from you and that is a win. We got a good draw against Portugal in the group stages but if we play as we have been I feel we can go one better. so lets get out there and get into them and attack from the off.

Goalkeeper Tactics
Make yourself heard, Make your self big in the goal, talk to your defence, Get ball up field as quick as possible. Keep talking to the defence, Keep them organised, Use Agility to make saves

Sweeper Tactics
Franz, do as we know you can do. Clear the ball upfield as quick as you can. This game we also have the added danger of Ronaldo to face. If he cuts in from the wing like he does now and again, then it will be your job to stop him. Do anything to do this, but not something that will put the team in danger.

Defensive Tactics
* Midfielders must try to drop back to help the back four
* Track players who could pose a threat on goal.
* When in doubt get the ball out of play and as far up the pitch as possible.
* Im Expecting the opposition to be playing a very attacking team so we need to keep as tight to there players as possible and stop them from pinging passes around
* Stop them getting down our wings and dont allow them the space
* help each other out as much as possible and dont do anything stupid to put us in danger

Attacking Tactics
* Pass the ball around as much as possible and cut through there defence and midfield.
* Play down the wings and get crosses into the box
* Use the speed of our pacier players
* If a player is in a better position to get a shot away allow them too.
* Pick up any loose passes and make them pay for it.
* Strikers Put the Ball into the Net Wink

Tactics:
Zoff: Be strong, and communicate well. Another clean sheet today.
Zambrotta and Maldini: You two will do your defensive jobs first and attack later. Don't let your opposite numbers beat you.
Baresi and Cannavaro: Be strong in the air and in the tackles. Another clean sheet, you are the heart today.
De Rossi, Marchisio and Pirlo: Distribute the ball well along the floor, and work back hard. Work as a three not as individuals.
Di Natale: You are the creative force. Get in the hole. You can win this game for us.
Balotelli and Pazzini: Be strong and compete for everything. Take your chances when they come, don't let the defence have a moments rest.

Team Talk: This is it lads. Make yourselves heroes. I have kept the same team that beat the Irish, so look for the win again. Be strong in defence, keep a clean sheet. Stand up to the german barrage much like the British did in WWII! Attack with flair, eccentricity and pace. Be clinical. FORZA ITALIA Yahoo

The Final
GERMANY vs Italy

Team Talk
We were proberly one of the teams least expected to get to this stage. we have had some tough games that we have come through, this is another challenge but one I feel we can win. We will be keeping the same team that has done us so well. Now go out there keep the ball, pass it round and make them chase us. Lets take the cup back with us to Germany.

Franz, do as we know you can do. Clear the ball upfield as quick as you can. Your priority this game is to watch Di Natale, he has been a threat all tournament, keep tight to him, dont allow him to make his forward runs Stop him at all costs, but do not put us at risk by making us go down to 10 men
