Game 1 - Hampshire have better bowlers, but Somerset better batsmen. They sneak a win off the last over after a superb performance by Gayle.

Somerset win by 5 wickets.
MOTM Gayle.

Game 2 - Sussex's side is better suited to the conditions, and they set a big total before restricting Essex, mainly thanks to Steyn.

Sussex win by 10 runs.
MOTM Steyn.

Game 3 Surrey get a huge total, but in reply their medium pacers prove ineffective as McCullum hits a superb century to win off the penultimate over.

Middlesex win by 6 wickets.
MOTM McCullum.

- Lancashire vs. Leicestershire - Lancashire win toss.

After winning the toss Anderson and Harris rip through the Leics top order with the swinging conditions. Anderson taking 8-3 in his opening 3 overs. Smith and Kerrigan control the middle overs and despite a heroic effort from Trego Leics get to 132 all out after Anderson returns and takes the final two wickets in the last over. In response the Leics spin attack comes to the front as on a pitch that is starting to turn Bishoo et al have a great time. Unfortunately for Leics Kane Williamson is in one of those moods and smashes 65 off of just 29 balls as Lancs get home by 4 wickets.

Leics - 132-10 (19.4 overs)
Lancs - 133-6 (19.2 overs)

MOTM - James Anderson

- Nottinghamshire vs. Durham - Durham win toss.

The three seamers from Durham work brilliantly early on with Hassan in particular loving the conditions. Warner and Iqbal both fall early on with the swing bamboozling them and when Taylor falls for a first ball duck it all looks like its going wrong. Hales and Hussey weather the storm and both Borthwick and Collingwood both get the treatment. Hassan returns cleaning up Hales after Hussey fell to Pollard. Van Wyk hits some lusty blows but wickets fall as Notts post 153-7. In reply Finch shows his class as he gets Durham off to a flyer. Harris and Broad bowl nicely and get Stirling and Gibbs early on. Finch carries on though and brings up his 50 with a huge 6 over Swanns head. Swann eventually gets Finch tho and the nerves kick in as Collingwood, Stokes and Read all depart on Malingas return. The key man is Pollard as he steps up and launches against a wayward Broad. As wickets tumble (Malinga with a brace in the final over) the match is close but Pollard hits the winning runs off the final ball.

Notts - 153-7 (20 overs)
Durham - 154-9 (20 overs)

MOTM - Hamid Hassan

- Worcestershire vs. Yorkshire - Worcs win toss.

The moving of Bell up the order was the key as on this pitch he excelled and scored a magnificent 75 not out. The rest of Worcs played cameos with Pathan scoring a quick fire 36. In response Yorks never quite got going and lost wickets at key moments. Eventually leaving Bairstow too much to do in the last over as Worcs won by 5 runs.

Worcs - 176-3
Yorks - 171-6

MOTM - Ian Bell

Hampshire Vs. Somerset

Hampshire start brilliantly with Adams and Smith getting them off to a flyer with the extra pace of Tait being particularly expensive. The introduction of Dockrell and Murali brings it back, as Dockrell bowls really well. Durston and Gayle chip in aswell as Hampshire look below par, but some good, if slightly lucky hitting from Dimi and Parnell get Hamps upto 170. Wood and Bravo get slaughtered at the start of the innings and whilst Dimi with his cutters and Briggs bring in back slightly the batting power of Somerset proves a little too much.

Somerset win by 6 wickets.

Sussex Vs. Essex

The nightmare strikes for Sussex as Parry gets Wright holing out in the first over, but Nash and the mastery of Kohli see them to the end of the PP. Nash falls to Afridi but Misbah uses all his experience to build a platform with Virat. Misbah goes, but Shahzad provides some cameo hitting and Virat bats through for 89*, but the tail falls away slightly to leave them at 158. In reply, Essex are spun off the pitch. Owais Shah gives them hope briefly and when Chandimal comes in it looks like they pull it out of the fire, but Steyn is too good at the death but Panesar is MOM after grabbing 4-17.

Sussex win by 21 runs.

Middlesex Vs. Surrey

It's a powerful Surrey batting line up, and all the way down to Woakes at 8 they contribute with Praveen being punished particularly, but all the Middlesex bowlers take some clatter. Vettori gets 3 wickets but still goes at 9 an over but Finn is the pick off the attack but still goes at 7.5. Woakes hits the last ball for 4 to bring up the 200. McCullum starts well, but the Middlesex line up bar Guptill, Mogs and McCullum lacks a the firepower required on this road and Benkenstein just can't get Mathews and Stevens away in the middle overs and Middlesex fall short.

Surrey win by 15 runs.

Lancs Vs Leciestershire
Lancs win by 3 wickets

Leicestershire - Lose 2 quick wickets, but a short period between Dilshan and Raina help Leicestershire to 68/2 at the mid way point, Raina goes in the 12th over where Trego has a quick blast to help up the run rate. Leicestershire finish 156/6

Lancs just have enough in the batting department to see them home, Nannes picks up a few wickets.

Nottinghamshire Vs Durham

Durham win by 4 wickets

Notts - 186/7
Durham 189/6

Durham opening seamers do a good job of making life difficult, but Notts batters pull away at a rate after the power play leading to a big total. Durham then have enough in their arsenal to be able to wreak havok for the Notts bowlers.

Worcestershire Vs Yorkshire
Yorkshire win by 3 wickets
Worcestershire - 128/7
Yorkshire - 130/7 (19.2 overs)

Bell does well to make 50 before gettig out to Warne, Worcestershire trudge their way to 128.

Yorkshire get off to a slow start losing a wicket or 2 giving Worcestershire hope but battle back to see that they win by 3 wickets.

Hampshire vs Somerset

A strong start from Hampshire against the pace bowlers is pegged back by Dockrell and Murali, who rolls back the years. Some later order hitting from Dimi gets Hampshire to a respectable total but the strength of Somerset's batting line up proves too much, Trescothick playing a blinder of an innings to see Somerset home.

Somerset win

Sussex vs Essex

I like the look of the Sussex side in these conditions. Nash gets Sussex off to a solid start, though Wright struggles. Eventually he goes, and shockingly Kohli follows swiftly. Misbah comes in and plays the sort of knock expected from Kohli, with Prior, Shahzad and Brown hitting around him. Sussex bowl well, Shah playing a good innings but not finding a solid partner until Chandimal comes in(I feel he is a bit low in the order), but it's too little too late and Sussex pulls themselves over the finishing line after a good spell at the death from Steyn.

Sussex win

Surrey vs Middlesex

A battle of the batting line-ups. Surrey get off to a flyer, and although they are reigned in slightly by Vettori, the strength of the batting line-up sees them to a massive total, with notable innings from Davies and Hussey. In reply, the opening pair of Guptil and McCullum fire but when they go, I feel that only Morgan really has the firepower and he doesn't find ample support, with Dernbach bowling well at the death.

Surrey win

Lancashire Lightning v Leicestershire Foxes

James Anderson is the master of swinging conditions and nips out Dilshan, Jefferson and Raina early. O'Brien and Trego start a counter attack against Napier, Smith and Kerrigan who isn't experienced in one-day cricket but Harris strikes in the 11th over. The innings then falls away in tricky conditions and Leics are dismissed for a well under par 102. O'Brien with 35 is the top scorer and Anderson takes 4 wickets.

Nannes strikes early to remove Mustard but conditions ease and Lancs don't struggle too much to chase this small total with just one more wicket falling - Ryder to Ashwin. Maynard and Moore finish 25 and 53 not out respectively.

Lancashire Lightning win by 8 wickets
Man of the Match: James Anderson

Nottinghamshire Outlaws v Durham Dynamos

Hassan and Harmison struggle to exploit conditions early on, though Warner holes out off Hassan for 10. Tamim and Hales take the attack to Durham with Borthwick going for 16 in one over. Gul eventually makes the breakthrough but its a bit late and Taylor, and then Hussey once Hales goes for a superb 75, play masterful cameos to take Notts to an impressive 182-3.

By this point the pitch is quite uneven and Malinga uses this to his advantage to remove Finch and Stirling early on. Harris and Broad keep the rate down with Broad using the short ball to dismiss Gibbs. Pollard strikes some lusty blows off Fletcher and Swann to give his team some hope whilst Collingwood rotates the strike at the other end. But Swann traps the big man lbw in the 14th over and from then on Durham are well behind the run rate with Broad and Malinga bowling superb lines at the death. Stokes and Read fall in the final over and their team are still 25 short. Malinga takes 4 but Hales picks up the MoM award.

Nottinghamshire Outlaws win by 25 runs
Man of the Match: Alex Hales

Worcestershire Royals v Yorkshire Carnegie

Rashid opening the bowling doesn't work on this occasion with Solanki and Bell hitting a classy boundary each. They continue to play in a steady manner until Warne comes into the attack , reaching 65-0 after nine. However, old demons re-emerge for Bell as he is caught at bat/pad off Warne after the Australian sets a characteristically attacking field. From then on the Worcs batting line-up collapses to Warne, who takes 4 wickets, though Solanki remains at the crease and is joined by Mongoose-man Gareth Andrew. Andrew pings three sixes off Warne and Bresnan before holing out, after which Shakib (batting way too low at No. 8) arrives at the crease and ups the scoring rate at the death. Solanki finishes 78*, and the team make a more than respectable 155-6 despite the Warne-inflicted carnage in the middle of the innings.

Any pace in this pitch comes with the new ball, and Meaker and Lee exploit this to remove Denly and pinch-hitter Mahmood. Cook and Rohit Sharma are then able to adapt well to conditions and take Yorks to 80-2 after twelve overs. However, Rohit is dismissed in a soft manner to Gareth Andrew in the 13th over and from then on life becomes more difficult, with Dhoni struggling against Shakib and Yusuf to start with and Cook soon caught and bowled off the Bangladeshi slow-left armer. At the end of the 16th over the match looks like being a thriller with Yorks needing 38 off 4 overs. But Dhoni gets hold of Cheema and Brett Lee, and despite three wickets falling to the pair at the other end, Dhoni is still in with Bresnan at the start of the final over and with just six to win. Its all over in one ball when Dhoni hits it out of the ground.

Yorkshire Carnegie win by 3 wickets
Man of the Match: Shane Warne

Northern League

- Lancashire vs. Leicestershire - Lancashire win toss and bowl 1st.
Life is tough for Leics at the start, with 3 wickets falling in a low scoring power play. Rain and Trego rebuild steadily from there, adding 70 for the 4th wicket before Harris picks up Trego in the 14th. Leics accelerate a little towards the end, but lose wickets in the process, finishing on 130/8.

In reply Lancs get off to a flyer in the powerplay despite losing Mustard earlier as the Easy Ryder has his eye in early. He and Moore fall to the spinners after the powerplay though, and Maynard and Williamson have to rebuild, pushing the ball around. There aren't anough runs to defned however, and Napier sees them through to a 4 wicket win with an over to spare.

Lancashire win

- Nottinghamshire vs. Durham - Durham win toss and bowl first
The spectators get their money's worth in the opening powerplay, with runs and wickets galore as Warner and Tamin play their shots after seeing Hales fall to a prodigiously swinging yorker. They ride their luck initially, and going hard at the ball means edges fly wide of the field and straight to the fence. That can't last forever however, and after the powerplay the score is 60/4. Hussey and Van Wyk settle things down for a while, but after they fall the lower order goes down swinging, all out for 130 in the 16th.

In reply Malinga yorks Finch and Stirling in the 1st over. Gibbs starts playing his shots while Collingwood opts for a slightly more defensive approach playing the anchor role. Gibbs' luck runs out in the 8th, and Pollard smashes a very fast 20 to leave 45 needed from 8 overs. Collinwood and Read are wary of the returning Malinga and push a little harder before his return, and even he can't defend 25 off 5 despite picking up Read just before the end. Win to Durham

- Worcestershire vs. Yorkshire - Worcs win toss.
Worcs plod their way through to 135/6 batting first, Bell top scoring with 60 as Warne and Rashid prove hard to get away.

In response Yorkshire get off to a steady start, and with Cook anchoring through the innings they make it home with 4 balls to spare, 5 wickets down.

Win to Yorkshire

Hampshire vs Somerset: Somerset win

For me Somerset have gone with the right approach on a flat pitch by being aggressive and picking five specialist bowlers. This allows them to contain Hampshire to a good score rather than an excellent one (about 170), and Somerset's top 6 is so explosive I fancy them to chase it in reasonable comfort.

Essex vs Sussex: Sussex win

The toss is key here, as is the presence of Virat Kohli, the class batsman on either side. He plays a superb innings of 75 not out in tricky conditions, and useful cameos from Prior and Shahzad get Sussex up to 145. On a wearing pitch it's difficult going for Essex, and it's a surprise to see Chandimal so low down the order. The required rate climbs, and wickets fall as the Sussex spinners strangle the chase. Essex fall 15 runs short.

Surrey vs Middlesex: Surrey win

Finn starts well, but Kumar and Pathan get slapped around a bit by Roy and Davies, and despite a decent spell by Vettori Hussey builds a lovely innings to take Surrey past the 160 mark. In reply Woakes gets hit by McCullum, but in Arafat, Dernbach and Karthik Surrey have some canny bowlers who vary it nicely and push the rate up, with Middlesex eventually falling five short.
