Biggest Face / Heel Turns In Movies (may contain spoilers for movies you havent seen yet!!!)

Another one of those fun threads!!! What in your opinion is the biggest heel or face turns in movies?

The biggest face turn surely has to be Darth Vader at the end of the last Star Wars movie where he chucks the Emperor off that ledge to save Luke Skywalker.

That guy in the film Salt.
He was a friend of Salt all the way through but it turned out at the end he wanted to start a nuclear war. Very heelish!

And Magnito in that new x-men film.

The Terminators face turn in Terminator 2, from being heel in the first one.

Add Jack Torences slow heel turn in The Shining to that aswell.

Snape in Harry Potter.

Heel for the most part, seemingly a face turn but then uber heel when he kills Dumbledore but ends up as an uber face in the end.

Strictly speaking that's not realy a turn though is it? As he's the good guy all along. The readers just aren't told his reasons for killing Dumbledore until the last book.

Wes Mantooth in The Anchorman, He could have pushed Ron Burgundy back into the Bear enclosure but instead saved him, big Face turn after playing a heel throughout and it turns out their brothers as well!

Frodo teases a Heel Turn in Mt Doom in TROTK

That bully from the Michael Keaton film The Snowman: generally being a jerk throughout the film, but then turns face and helps the kid and his dad out.

obadiah stane in Iron Man, friend of Tony Stark's and college. His heel turn came when he reveals he tried to firstly have Stark killed then attempts to have him forced from his own company.

One big heel turn trying to kill the guy!

Pirates of Caribbean, Barbossa has a face turn in the second film by returning to side with the faces.

Norrington goes from heel to tweener to heel to face in those films.

He is a complete knob from start to finish, being an absolute Muppet to an 11 year old orphan and throughout his whole life because you didn't like his dad is not offset by vaguely giving a Poopie wether he lived or died because you fancied his mum.

Honestly thought this part of the book was terribly written if he was meant to come across as anything but a sad, sad, man who couldn't let go of a childhood crush from 2 decades ago.

But the whole book is based on love being stronger than any Magic. the fact that Love is the strongest thing in the world

It was not a Childhood crush, he actually loved her and he was also the reason that she died when he told Voldermort the part of the prophecy he heard.

By this basic fact alone he feels hatred towards himself when he sees harry, and that makes him dislike Harry, it reminds him of this fact.

There are many many other reason than just his dislike of his father, why he is a muppet although if you spent your adult life looking at a spitting image of a man that bullied you throughout school and tell me that would not feel resentment.

But im going to stop now before i sound even sadder than i do

Like you I don't want to get too deep into discussion. Also we have to take into account that what the author says is gospel, as she created the character and stories.

But, actions speak louder than words - they were never together. Lily was with James from their teenaged years, they got married and had a family together - whilst he joined an evil cult and set about killing people like lily's parents. Way to show your love.

Then when their orphaned child (his fault as you alluded) comes to the school where you are a senior teacher you are horrible to him.

He was/is a horrible man who's only good actions were driven by guilt.
