6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
First topic message reminder :
After discussing the idea earlier over on the old 606 I thought I'd make a quick thread here.
With the recent influx of characters into 6WF I was thinking that it could be a good idea to set up a 6WF version of NXT where veteran promoers are partnered with newcomers in order to make joining less daunting and allow the us oldens to help newbies develop their promoing skills. This has been shown to work superbly by the COH storyline where Beer and Marshall were taken under Hero's wing and are now two of the best promoers we have! Also we could use it to adapt past characters, whose writers left e.g. Hellraiser, into useful jobbers/tag partners for people
Possible 'pros':
Hero
Miss Jessica/Cassius
Perfect Jack
The Association
Chaos
Lex Hart
Maxi-Pad
Enforcer
'Rookies':
Any newcomers since the full swap to 606v2
James Eagle - Already expressed an interest in doing this!
Hellraiser
Daniel Montgomery
Rasta :P
Any thoughts on this idea?

Y I Man, great vignette. Really really good. Cheers Brahma.
Marky, if you could reply ASAP that'd be great. If any of the other pro's want to see the first draft of the pairings then let me know

Something I didn't mention in the PM is that 6WF Next Gen should probably stay on 606v2 to make it easier.

I've reposted the Shutdown card on here so YI you can repost your segment and I may do one for my new character.
Even though i'm technically a pro, i'm a rookie when it comes to the type of character I have, so i'm in the same boat as everyone else!

Hey Guys
Honoured to be a pro in 6WF NXT, So how are we going to descide our Rookies? THere's one i'd like to take under my wing, I think he may know who he is, I think him and BD could make a great on screed duo.
By the way, how does everyone feel about calling the show 6NG (6wf Next Gen) or 6FS (6WF Future Stars)??

Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
Marky, sorry to moan, but the idea of 6WF Next Gen was for posters to earn some valuable experience and learn the art of promoing. However, I feel that you already have an advantage over the other rookies, as you have been e-feeding for much longer than all of us. I think it would be unfair, as you have very little more to learn and will be dominating from the very start.

Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
I don't think that's going to be a problem due to the pros voting for the best promos and also voting fot who should be eliminated. Marky has a whole new character which may or nay not take off.
Also James Eagle in my mind has the best pro! Talking if which the full pro/rookie list will be announced on the first card

Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
Legend, I realise it may look like an unfair advantage even though my new character is completely different from anything i've done, besides i'd discount myself from winning as pro's like Hero would deliberately mark me down to be spiteful...
Besides, if I am dominating, then surely it encourages you to bring your best material, something you'll learn one day when promoing against Hero/Demon.
And it's only been 2 and a half years in 6WF actually...

Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
Has anyone checked with the commissioners that they are happy with this?
Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
I'd be completely neutral on my judging and in no way would I vote tactically!
Only 2 & a half years of Max promos? Seems a lifetime.

Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
So are the rookies encouraged to PM the pros with their “draft” promos, so to speak, and then we’ll suggest amendments and how to improve it?

I suppose all ideas and communication is down to the pros and rookies individually. That's all part of the game!

Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
Each week there will be topics for the rookies to promo about, starting with one but ending up with 3 in the final. The pros help their rookies with the promos and give tips on how to write better promos.
Re: 6WF NXT (6NG) - Discussion Area
Sounds good! When is the first show planned to go up/have Mat or Crimey even approved it?

Their pro can assist them if they wish, before the rookie submits their effort in final.

I think the first card will go up at the same time as the Lockdown card, after Monday's Shutdown results. But this is subject to Mat and Crimey's blessing.

Fernando if you desperately want in we could accommodate you either as a sub for shoe or with an 8th and final pro. Lex Hart or Chris Patricks perhaps?
