Really hope Rogan shuts this clown up, can't believe Furys rated 8 by the WBC.

That did make me laugh, would have been more apt to compare him to Balboa
Fury standing on his tip toes then I'm sure the ref forgot what he was saying as well.

Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
Apparently Rogan was only told it was a 12 rounder yesterday as the Irish title is normally fought for over 10, apparently the Irish commission made the change due this being a "big" international fight.

Commentator then "Fury has always said he'd fight anyone" yes, unless their name is David Price.

It's sickening how much these commentators love Fury. Every punch he throws is made out to be a perfect shot.

I've got it 38-38 at the moment. First two to Rogan, a 10-8 and then the 4th was close so gave it even.

Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
Easy way out for Rogan, motioned towards his corner just before the knockdown. Fury will get knocked out by the first decent guy he fights. Can't stand the man sausage.

To be fair, when Fury opens up, he looks decent. Accurate punches.

His comments over the next few days are going to make Amir Khan look like a genius. Can't believe he actually thinks he's ready for anyone above average domestic level, wouldn't be surprised if he calls out Price in his post fight interview.
I'd back Chisora, Sexton, Price and probably Towers to beat him.

Was on the chatbox earlier and said there were big rumours over here that Rogan was going down in the fifth. Genuinely looked hurt though.

Decent performcance from Fury, waited for his opportunity and took it. Better movement, defence and showed patience. That said it was a 40 year old cabbie so not getting too carried away.

Thought it looked very very dodgy lads. Just the way Rogan looked to his corner just before the last bodyshot was landed and I didn't think it even looked like that strong of a shot.

Nah. It was a good body shot. All you have to do is to look at his reaction and face when it landed.

I heard Rogan was going down in the fifth, need to watch it again, but there was a few occasions in that round were he glanced to his corner.

Was impressive for a third fight against a credible opponent. Certainly doesn't seem to lack that finishing instinct.

Downed fighters usually look to their corner before they get up.

He leaves himself open to much at the moment though it seems his team might know that as Allison doesn't appear to much of a puncher.

watch the round again. looks over to his corner midway through, then again just before the KO. I'm not accusing him of anything, but it's certainly roused my suspicion after what I heard.

Judah usually does it as well, could just mean that he was lookin for a way out
Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
Channel 5's sycophantic boot licking is ridiculous. The only reason I'll cotinue to watch Fury is because when (not if) he gets knocked out I want to see it. The way they swept the Price issue under the carpet was pathetic. The anchor sounded like he'd never seen a boxing match before, the way he marvelled at a guy fightng with his right foot in front. "Is it possible to actually change stance during the fight???"
Eubank Jr was much better, but he was caught too often and really needed to throw everything he had to get the ref to step in. Even then, Allison was hardly incapacitated. Maybe he just annoys me by revelling in his own lack of individuality. Was he actually introduced as "the man with the famous name"?

That's the 'beauty' of Fury. He polarises opinion even more than Khan. People will watch him to see him get KO'd or KO someone. I find him entertaining in a road crash sort of way. He clearly is a few trees short of a rainforest and for that he is interesting. Decent boxer given the level many HW's are. I'd stick my neck out and back him to beat Price. Both are chinny and now with Fury coming out and boxing 'effectively' at south-paw, God knows what will happen. One thing for sure is that both are chinny and whoever lands first will win.
As for Eubank, good performance and he has a great variety of punches. He brought many to the party. But does he have power? Or was his opponent one with a good chin. Eubank hit him clean without much effect.

Maybe I just dont want to believe a boxer will throw a fight. But the body shot looked painful.

Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
Azania: A few say that Price is a bit chinny, but technically, he hasn't really had his chin tested too much. People talk about his Olympic fight, but he wasn't out cold. He was tagged pretty hard in his debut fight when his arms were down and he didn't really flinch.
I'm just saying, because I've read a few times on 606 that Price is chinny yada-yada-yada... but apart from him losing his legs a little and righting himself up 4 years ago, there isn't much else to base it on.

Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
Az I just thought that there was something dodgy going on as soon as I seen Rogan look at his corner and then go down. Didnt think the bodyshot looked anywhere near as hurtful as some others that had landed and it got a bit overdramatic with his trainer running into stop it. I hope it hasn't happened but I just thought there was something going on.

Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
I didnt think there was anything dodgy in the fight. My take was that Rogan had been hurt by a body shot earlier in the round which seemed to take the fight out of him and he looked over at his corner indicating that he was struggling. The second body shot just finished him off but it was only half way through the fight and I think Rogan looking at his corner was basically to say he was done.

Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
that was and still is my take too manos, but if word was going round that he was going down in the 5th, it does just give that flicker of doubt.
It's hard to see how hurtful a body shot has been.... fighters will take hundreds of them with no apparent effect, but one in the right place at the wrong time can drop them like a sack of spuds, and this one was right under the rib cage.

Morning Milky - little one waking you early? I was rather surprised that he looked pretty good in flashes last night although the opponent was dire, wonder if he'll try it against a better opponent.
Re: Fury vs Rogan chat
morning shah, nope he's on holiday with his mum, so i have a few days off! He's a strange fighter fury, he looked like audley for the most part last night, barely throwing a punch, but when he did, i too thought he looked quite good and put some decent combinations together. Its fashionable to see him as a figure of ridicule, but he's not as useless as some would have you believe and he's been in some decent tear ups. Shame about the price fight, but give the guy a break i say
