Clev fight is off!
First topic message reminder :
Another one bites the dust, albeit it this was a c*** fight anyway. Perhaps Warren is retiring, kidding.
I honestly could not care less about this one.

Re: Clev fight is off!
I actually think a fight with Hopkins in the summer is not that far fetched, if Hopkins were to lose to Dawson. I think Hopkins will lose to Dawson and provided its not some kind of SD or controversial fight that spawns a rematch then I think its a possibility. A bigger issue would be trying to present Hopkins with a deal that he finds acceptable which is why if Hopkins wins I dont think the fight goes ahead until Cleverly up his reputation and financial stock within the sport.
I think Warren knows he wont be able to generate public interest in Cleverly if he fights continued unranked opposition. But I think he trying to play a bit of catch up with him and get him more experience before a fight with Hopkins.

At the very least put him in with guys who genuinely pose questions however, Diacanu would be perfect.

Re: Clev fight is off!
Well Warren be thinking that if hes going to risk him, he might aswell risk him with the biggest and most financially lucrative name in the division. That way everyone makes money and its something of a win/win scenario even if Cleverly loses. Hes lost to a legend, got some good publicity and kudos, intrest in him is raised significantly, hes made good money etc
If he puts him in with Diaconu and he loses then he loses his title and gets written off as a bum. His stock is destroyed, at least temporarily and he has to go back to stage 1.
His opposition has been so poor lately that I have wondered if it isnt just the case that they genuinely are going to try for Hopkins in the Summer and want to ensure theres no possible hiccough before then.

What if he gets schooled for 12 rounds and looks like green behind the ears amatuer posing as a professional? Does this also count as a win, because I doubt there would be much kudos in this case? Just a possibility for supporting Bruno at this years pantomine as the back end of a donkey

Well I think thats the kind of attitude that I think makes promoters reluctant to risk fighters in the first place. I think he would get respect for taking the fight. Yes theres a risk he gets outclassed but Hopkins will be close to 48y with an engine that only allows him to fight sporadically in fights. I suspect Cleverly would lose but if he performed credibly then by and large I think he would emerge from the fight without too much damage to his career.

Big If and hypothetical at best. Given the age of Hopkins, we would all be saying father time caught up with him. I would much prefer Cleverley fight his mandatory and then we have a bench mark from which to move on from.

Re: Clev fight is off!
Id have no complaints if he fought Hopkins. This mandatory of Cleverlys is probably not much better than Murat is not a top ten ranked fighter in the division.

Agreed, but they're doing nothing. Board has been too quiet recently IMO, not enough contributors and the seasoned vets seem to have not been posting, which exposes the Steffans of this world

Couple of weeks off and I get back to see that nothing has changed.
Folks calling each other retards, other choice insults flying freely, double standards being practised and the whole thing descending into chaos.
Either we cut the bickering or I cut the thread.

I love you too Seanusarrilius although you should cut back the preview time on your Youtube videos as they tend to go on a bit too long. Anything more than 5 minutes is a no no

Fair do. I been struggling for time as well between Uni and the new misses. Not much worth previewing anyway is there. Re: Clev fight is off!
Iv never really thought about what the mods do for a living. I just assumed that:
Adam - Totally loaded and doesnt need to work
Windy - Beyond working age and retired
Fists - On incapacity benefit. Does a few hobbles on the sly
Oxy - Doing easy degree in Uni. Parents probably rich
Rowley - Claims JSA and lives in remote Yorkshire village where jobs are few and far between
Union Cane - Unemployable

Its pissing it down here in luton and I can't help but love it. Been a long time since we had proper rain!.
You missed some crackers while you were gone windy. Rowley got views in double figures and only a minor percentage referred to his gut and his racist job. Tino has become ino, from twit to wit and has brought up some crackers and Azania has been moderately peaceful. Steffan has criticised cleverly and we've had several good discussions not mentioned above and as soon as you come back the place goes to crap Think we have a seriousness limit on this place or something.

A brighter man than me would assume there is not really a market for the colour line greats series, unfortunately for you I am pretty stupid so will be ploughing on irrespective, am tempted to write the next one on Amir Khan, realise he has not really been impacted by the colour line but suspect people will be too busy arguing about whether he wears nice shoes or some such rubbish to notice.

You may be fat, you may be racist and you maybe stupid but you are not an ostrich. Genuinely enjoyed those articles, so get going on the next one, I might not be able to comment sometimes but rest assured I have read it. Its alright windy, long might it continue.
