Being Chinny but otherwise being very good in offense?

Or having a no power but being able to take a good shot?

Both present issues.
Those with no power can be walked down by strong opponents, knocked of their game and beaten.

Those with power can keep someone at bay but once they come across a top chinned fighter, or someone savvy enough to get avoid their shots, they can get sparked...a la Tommy Hearns and Amir Khan in his early days.

Some examples of fighters hampered by one or both

Enzo...Chin
Clev... No power
Linares...Chin/cuts

Both not ideal... I would say lack of power with a good chin would be a better trait. Eventually in Boxing, even if you're Floyd you're gonna have to take a good dhot and if you're sparked everytime then you're in trouble.

But suppose it depends on the extent of lack of power versus the extent of the poor chin.

True, degrees. Hearns had such good attributes on offense it only mattered that he was suspect in the chin against the really good fighters

Doesn't it all depend on the other attributes the boxer has? It is the overall package that needs to be considered. Yes Thomas Hearns may have been considered chinny by some, but he so devastating going forward that only the best ever got a chance to test that theory. Calzaghe was lacking in power at the end, but his work rate meant that accumulation got the job done. It's how you compensate for your weakness that makes the difference between a great fighter and an also ran

agreed with the above, if you're a good boxer with little power but a great chin you can get in there and keep your work rate high enough to win rounds.

and a chinny fighter is only a problem if he gets caught. hasn;t caused Wlad problems, or haye, or khan - all apparently chinny although i disagree with all of them.

IMO lack of power with a good chin and good boxing skills is alway's better than a fighter with power but chinny.

Sweet Pea is a prime example not a big puncher but great defense a good chin and excellent boxer, those with power struggled to catch him.

Depends if you have great recovery or not

Corrales had a weak chin but his powers of recovery were good enough he could still go to war
