No Keith Earls.
McFadden, Wallace, O'Driscoll, Cave.
Earls instead of Paddy if the option was there.

I've got Earls under wing, I know he is seen as a utility back, if he doesn't make it under the top 6 in the back three, he'll get another chance when we extend the squad to 35.

Found that difficult did you billy?
Should I take D'Arcy out of the poll completely, then it is more straight forward.

I'd have been tempted by Spence/EOM if they had had better seasons (more prominent)
I wish Spence had got more time at 13 rather than 12 think he took a step backwards this season compared to last.
EOM could have had a serious shot if we had dropped Darcy and played McF at 12 and EOM at 13. Unfortunatly Darcy got 12 and McF 13.

McFadden is a bit of a utility back and stand-in goal kicker ?

McFadden is and isn't. He is a 12 who can play wing. He should not be playing 13 IMO that is his worst position.

Re: Irish midfield selections for New Zealand tour
Would love to see BOD at 12 and Earls 13.
Think earls should be added to the poll for centre also as that will ultimately be the position he will settle on. This season has shown that

I can´t believe BOD is on the list. He did nothing in this year´s 6N.

Really?? I think this season has shown the complete opposite. Earls isn't as good as Cave at 13 now, and later he will be replaced by more options. All his strengths in attack were wasted this season. Going from one of the top try scorers in the world cup to a solid 13 in defence, with one good line break and a few good passes. He should have stayed on the wing. He is in danger now I think.

I would have liked to see Fitzgerald as an option for 13 on this list personally, I would have had him as one of my picks.

Re: Irish midfield selections for New Zealand tour
Surely the fact Munster have signed Lualala has put a nail in the Earls at 13 coffin no?
His vision of space for players other than himself is atrocious for an international 13. When he does well he does well at things wingers do, like one of his tries against Russia for instance playing 13 and Trimble 11 but Trimble was 2nd reciever and broke the line to release Earls to use his pace.

Re: Irish midfield selections for New Zealand tour
Ireland is pretty exceptional by playing relatively small - albeit very talented mid field backs
I think Cave covers both talent and some physical presence (as long as he doesn't get injured again?!)

I would like to see Cave involved at some stage. He looks like he would adjust to international level easily.
