Morning,

F #ChelseaRentBoys, great preformance my backside. This was annoying me yday how people saying it was a brilliant preformance when all they did was park the bus!
Stoke get criticised for their tactics & I have an even better example of a team being slated for Parking the bus/playing defensive all match which I will revel if needed too.
Chelsea dont deserve to be in the Final.

Is not being able to defend stoically against the proclaimed greatest club side in existence with 10 men and no centre-backs considered a great performance?
Fluid passing and attack attack mentally is not everything about football and is where unfortunately Utd have faltered when they come up against Barca, we cannot outplay, Chelsea realised this and played to the strengths, kudos to them.

Viva, will do.

Hero, It wasnt considered a great performance when Mourinho put 7 defensive players in the Copa Del Rey match last season against Barca. He was slated, Real were slated. Wasnt Mourinho's Inter team slated in the same way in 2010. (funny how its the same coach) but these are the higher matches. Many teams park the bus and are cussed for it, why praise Chelsea?

So sorry I do not consider it a great preformance.

I like good football. Man Utd (on occasions), Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Bayern, Bilbao are some examples of teams who play good football that is good to watch. Barca lack a Plan B. If the tippy tappy nonsense doesn't work then they are buggered.

Id be happy to win it but I wouldnt be proud of the Final preformance.
Each time we lost to Barca I was still proud as we played them at football.

I would hate it if Man United played that sort of football.
People are quick to have a go at Stoke for negative football, Real Madrid, Jose's Inters team, the list can go on.

People say Arsenal try to be like Barcelona, Barcelona last night were just like Arsenal. All the possession, none of the penetration.

Don't forget Fabregas diving to win a penalty which Messi missed.

And Nick, if that's your view, then you've lost it. Defending is an art too, it might not be as pretty as Barcelona's style of football, but football isn't about looking good, it's about winning. If you can win while looking good, it's a bonus. No-one can beat Barca at what they do, so you have to adapt your game to stop them. Chelsea did that, with 10 men as well, so they and Di Matteo deserve the credit.

Call it parking the bus all you like, but if they couldn't defend they'd just be a bunch of overpayed Cones for Barca to dribble around.

I think Nick has a point, I know Football is becoming more and more of a business but it still has to entertain the fans thats what they pay for. Ferguson himself has said it's hard to win any trophy but to win it playing good Football, flair, exciting is the best ever.

Credit to Chelsea they defended and defended and defended and got the result they wanted they have made the European Final fair play.

Would you United fans swap seasons with Chelsea? I wouldn't for me the League is the bred and butter and I would always take that above the Champions league.

That depends on the club in question. Chelsea have won the Premier League but not the Champions League. Manchester United have won both. Liverpool have won the Champions League but not the Premier League. It changes their priorities.

Given the choice I'd go for a Champions League win over a Premier League one.
A Champions League wins puts you at the pinnacle of Europe, it provides you with far more opportunity to attract further quality players and increase your fan base.

I dont think you understand my view Marky.
My view is Chelsea being praised so heavily is a joke.
Teams of a high standards have defended against Barca in the past and been criticised heavily.

No, I want the league. I want the league title every season. As Viva said, the league is bred and butter.
Chelsea are in the FA Cup final. Im not too bothered about the FA Cup. The FA have have undermined that themselves.
CL Final, well if Chelsea lose they wont be in the CL next season.
League it always will be for me.

For all of one season. What if you dont qualify? You have to win it each year to stay in it, no ones won it 2 years in a row since new format.

Also, can you explain Man United fan base then as we dont win the CL most years but we DO win the league a lot. Hows the fan base so big???

Easy choice for me. Liverpools. They came from 3-0 down in 45 mnutes.
Chelsea took a slender 1-0 lead with them after 90 mins and got a draw away after 90 mins.
180 minutes of football to win on 3-2 or to recover from 3-0 down in 45 minutes.

This Barca side is probably the best side ever but beating Chelsea has got them to a Final only wheras Liverpool won the cup and that Milan side were very good. Like they say nobody remembers semi finals or losers so I have to go with the Liverpool victory.

Yeah I'd have to say that too. Although with 10 men it was impressive. I think they will get mashed in the final from whoever they play, not just because they are mssing 4 of their best players, but also because Bayern and Madrid are so much better than him and will not pass the ball into the net like Barca.

I have to say I don't think the game revolved about how good Chelsea played, but how badly Barca played.

Glenn Hoddle made a good point that they need to have a Plan B. Playing 3 at the back played into Chelsea's hands of controlling the middle, especially when Terry was sent off. They should have brought on or had from the start Adriano and Alves. Then use the extra man, for them both to overlap and cut inside.

This would have stretched Chelsea to play further towards either touchline and gave Barca the few yards of space in the centre that would have caused havoc.

Passing it into the net is all very good, but in instances like that when it is 10 v 11, suitable footballing tactics need to be applied. In the end Barca looked like they had no answer to Chelsea's tactics (parking the bus or otherwise).

I would not call it a great performance. I would just say Chelsea did what they had to do. So fair play to them OK
