The Rumour Mill .......................................... Revisited

With the date that clubs can officially talk to players approaching the rumour mill on signings is in full swing .

So if you have heard of any rumoured signings post them on here .

Young Hull KR prop/secondrow Scott Taylor is apparantley making the short journey across the city to Hull FC .

St Helens are stronly rumoured to be getting Hull FC second rower Willie Manu. They are also intrested in Jordan Turner joining him from the KC.

Salford are supposed to be intrested in Hull FC prop Mark O'Meley.

My brother-in-law was talking to Shaun Mcrea the Hull FC director of rugby the other day and he said that Hull have agreed deals for all their overseas quota for next season , he would only say that it was likely that 2 new NRL players would be coming over . Mention on another thread Brent Kite and Benji Marshall are hotly tipped .

Also heard Michael Dobson is considering returning to Australia and that Hull KR are looking at Scott Dureau as a possible replacement

Hull KR also looking at bringing in Lopani Paea aswell

Wade Mckinnon is homesick and looking to return to Australia from Hull FC.

Bradford are supposedly looking at Lee Smith of Leeds.

Huddersfield have entered the race for Bradford youngster John Bateman.

Bradford are looking at Hull FC's Martin Aspinwall.

Widnes are looking to get Brent Webb from Leeds.

Wigan are also thought to be keen on Scott Dureau, as they look to replace Leaulia.

Danny Mcguire is thought to want to go and try his luck the NRL.

I can't see Benji Marshall playing fot Hull FC next season. The money he would want would really eat into Hull's Salary cap.

Huddersfield, Wigan & St Helens are all reportedly after Castleford forward Brett Ferres, with Huddersfield thought to be slight favorites.

Cronulla are favourites to sign Hull FC winger Tom Briscoe when he moves to the NRL.

Huddersfield are being linked with Widnes forward Anthony Mullally, who turned down Widnes's new contract offer last week.

Hull KR full back Shannon McDonnell, who will be leaving Rovers at the end of the season, is thought to be intresting Catalan Dragons.

Michael Shenton, who is expected to leave St Helens this year, is thought to be intresting his former club Castleford.

It is rumoured that both St Helens & Hull FC, are fighting it out for Wigan half back Brett Finch.

Hull KR are interested in Greg White from Toulouse and West Tigers Tim Moltzen for next seasons fullback role , also heard they have sounded out Brent Webb

To be honest Kenny, i think that we have two competent full backs already in Craig Hall (who i always feel is a better player when he's in a more involved position). And Louis Sherrife, so i don't understand the point of getting another one.
But we probably will, though hope it's not Webb.

I hope its not Webb , but i do think we will sign someone .........dont know anything about Moltzen ? i will ask on the NRL thread to see if anyone rates him

Hull KR center Jake Webster is expected to leave and return to the NRL at the end of the season.

Castleford are being very strongly linked to the Batley duo of, prop Alex Walmsley & winger Alex Brown.

Micheal Shenton has been given permission by St Helens to speak to both Hull KR and Castleford about a move for next season .

HDM reporting David Riolo(agent) is flying over to England to discuss the futures of Jake Webster , Joel Clinton .

Riolo is the agent for a number of Superleague players and given he has been banned for 6 months from doing any NRL deals for his part in Melbourne Storms salary cap breaches it looks like hes going to be doing all his business in Superleague

Castleford are thought to be close to signing Hull KR center Jake Webster.

Not based on any fact that I know however this is of course the rumour mill re; Bradford next season, currently in special measures and thus unable to sign/re-sign any players, at least 15 Out of contract this year;

Jarrod Sammut back to Aus, possibly Parramatta? Bradford will need to loose a least one from the overseas quota

If they go into administration this will of probably start a fire sale in any case with POTENTIAL for contracts inc. Whitehead's new 5 year deal being void. Possibly more news in the during the next week/2 weeks.

I thought clubs weren't allowed to speak to players under contract ? i know as a fact HULL have spoken to both as this was told to me by a memeber of their coaching staff .

Wigan have also made Chase their number one choice to replace Brett Finch .

Given Chase signed a lucrative new 4 year contract at Cas last season if he is to leave the world record for a player may have to be broken .

If both Warrington and Wigan are serious about Chase and if Cas have turned down £300,00 already then the fee could get close to the record .

It’s a lot of money and I’m still not convinced about Chase. To me he’s a poor man’s Benji Marshall....plus I’m still probably a bit sore about his farcical integration to the England team

There are probably better options which teams could pick up in Australia no doubt..

I dont think he is worth that much , but i also dont think they could get a really top class Aussie over here now without breaking the bank .

Danny Brough would be a better choice imo .

If Rangi Chase has a really good game for England his value might go up. If he plays for England like he has for the Tigers all season his value will drop.

Shaun Mcrea has said Hull can deal with his off field behaviour , on a side note Watts was told to leave the England Knights squad last week for a breach of discipline .

Yep the times are changing , i had this discussion with my black & white brother-in-law a few years back when Rovers signed Shaun Briscoe i said then players would swap sides like the old days but he insisted Rovers would never have any players FC would want !

I think FC have taken a hell of a gamble with Watts, not ability wise, but off the field matters. Ability wise he could be good enough for a top 3 side. Off the fileld antics wise he's not even a championship 1 player, and that is no disrespect to championship 1 players.

Yes at 21 - 22 years old with unquestionable talent i think it says a lot that 2 clubs have now released him , and he was also kicked out of the England Knights camp .

Hull FC have a bit of a rep for taking on beer lovers and it biting them on the bum .

Hull FC have agreed terms with Lopini Paea from Catalans for 2013.

Also strong rumour that O'Carroll has left the club with immediate effect.

If you think about it, Lynch, Westerman, Tickle, Houghton, Ellis, Watts, Paea, and Elima if they get him.
