RIP Fred The Needle
Just read that one of our greatest All Blacks, and probably our greatest coach (undefeated) passed away at the age of 92.
Cheers Fred for addressing so much to the All Black legacy. You were one of the very best.

A nice article here detailing his rugby exploits. I love how he announced his AB days were over as a player by chucking his boots into the sea on the trip back home: http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/6823098/All-Black-legend-Sir-Fred-Allen-dies-aged-92

Farewell Sir Fred, your legend will live on. Watching the tribute yesterday, you just had to marvel at some of his yarns and experiences, especially against our old foe SA. I recall an interview on close up with him last year, boy did he have a steely glint in his eye still. Love that photo of what looks like, sir Fred giving McCaw a rark up
