Afternoon Rebel
Congrats to Kildare. They won their match today against Tyrone. Cork are still at it with Mayo...

Re: League Sunday
Hiya Cari.
Cork ran out fairly handy in the end. Some record in the league for the Rebels. One loss in the competition.........Which had to be the one I went to.
Hurling final next sunday. Should be good.
I am delighted for Kildare. Their first national title in a million years. Surprising for such a talented group.

Good win but it's the league so it means feic all. Hope the hurlers put in a decent performance, don't expect a win but if we get the likes of Naughton and Lehane to run at the KK defence, it will cause them problems.

Ah come on Thom, a win's a win. Every bit of silver counts. Gives the lads something to feel confident about. I think this league did the Dubs hurlers the world of good last year....shame they couldn't repeat it.

Re: League Sunday
The league is a pointless title. It's good for trying things out but half the teams don't take it seriously.

That's easy for a Cork man to say....................and i disagree also. I think teams do want to win it.................

Re: League Sunday
Do you think it's the fans who care less about the league rather than the players? Like I said, a win's a win and the teams will want to do their best in preparation for the summer. If they do well it'll give them momentum for the biggy...

Re: League Sunday
Cari, when you talk to some of the players, you get the sense that it's alright if they win but if they don't, it's only the league.

Ah! That's just bravado!
Anyway, do you think Cork can do the business in the Hurling final today?

Re: League Sunday
Positives there though, even in a bit of a chastening. The young lads showed well. Sweetnam especially. Some hurler. incredible skill. KK are just miles ahead. Their dark arts are frustrating as hell and I wish they'd get pulled on it but really and truly they were out of sight in 10 minutes.

Sweetnam is in the Munster Rugby Academy too. Going to have to choose soon. KK got away with some frees they always do, I felt it Lehane had went down when JJ ad him by the neck, he could have been sent off but what can you do. It's a weak enough KK side and shows Cork still have a long way to go.
Cork's ceiling this year would probably be beating Tipp in the Munster semi, an AI semi is possible thereafter but beyond a 1/4 and they're doing very well.

Re: League Sunday
I think Cork can be happy with the league campaign despite yesterdays result. They have blooded some exciting new players and can take a lot of hope for the future.

Didn't see any positives. KK weren't even good...............when you see Niall Mc Carthy and Young John Halpin (sorry, i forgot ghis name "as gaeilge") still holding down places then it's hard to say Cork have improved from last year...................
Cork also need to get the goalie situation sorted and fast

Re: League Sunday
It is either Coleman or Nash. I'd have Nash in before Coleman anyway. That said, Keeper is a thankless task at the best of times. Cusack is a massive influence. It is a thankless task for whoever gets the nod.

Re: League Sunday
He's not a million miles from the Limerick border up there in Kanturk. He's got a mighty puck. That would have been no use last sunday though. Coleman is much better than that showing. I guess the hope is that he has just gotten the bad one out of the way.
