Exeter Braves vs Quins A team
Good luck to both teams (both counterparts of 2 of the contenders for European and English team of the year, showing that both clubs have some strength in depth despite small squads and this being a breakout year for both) playing tonight at 7.30 at Sandy Park.
The Quins team is as follows:
1.Mark Lambert
2.Aston Croall
3.Will Collier
4.Sam Twomey
5.Pete Browne
6.Luke Wallace
7.Will Skinner (Capt)
8.Chris York
9.Karl Dickson
10.Rory Clegg
11.Charlie Walker
12.Tom Casson
13.Matt Hopper
14.Seb Stegmann
15.Ross Chisholm
16.Tom Standfield
17.Darryl Marfo
18.Kyle Sinckler
19.George Merrick
20.Joe Trayfoot
21.Richard Bolt
22.Benjamin Urdapilleta
23.Ollie Lindsay-Hague
The starting backs and backrow are very strong, and it looks like like both teams are really "in it to win it", so should be a great game. Anybody watching it?

Re: Exeter Braves vs Quins A team
That's an impressive A side; 12 of the starters (and 5 of the bench) have seen First XXIII action this season, mostly during the unbeaten run at the start of the season.
It's a measure of how far Quins have come - we couldn't have hoped to field an A side of that quality a couple of years back.
The Braves team looks interesting, too (and includes two former Quins).
Here's hoping it's a good game. Anyone know if it's on telly?

You fielded a pretty good one a couple of years back because you got to the A league final. The likes of Marler and Clegg were playing.

I was there - my first trip to Welford Road! But that side ultimately couldn't live with the Tigers Development (ahem) Squad. Although some of the playing personnel are the same, this side has much more of a mature and rounded feel to it. About half the players are mature squad players, and most of the others you can see challenging for First XV slots in the future.

I love that backline! All English, all young (ish) and all exciting prospects, this is what the A matches should be about.
Look out for Walker on the wing, looks like a definite Int player of the future.

Yes, the concencus was that on the Tigers offy board after he was nicked from the Tigers academy. He's got great pace, I'd like to see him switch to OC rather than stay out on the wing as he does cut some good angles and with that acceleration could cause a lot of damage.

Yes I agree Sam, he was massively impressive for Eng at 13, I assume he's on the wing as Hopper is like a better older version of him with more experience. Both have a ton of potential though.
Btw I knew you'd bring up the whole stolen from Tigers academy thing! We just thought Skinner would get lonely

In what sense and in which poll?
I really don't mind as each of them are in my personal top two Jeff sides.
But "both counterparts of 2 of the contenders for European and English team of the year[" is like claiming 'Dolly Parton has tiny titties - official'.

Re: Exeter Braves vs Quins A team
Chad Slade in for a try in possibly his last game for the Chiefs and Final score 29-9 with a penalty try towards the end seals the deal for Exe.

Re: Exeter Braves vs Quins A team
Final score was 29-9 and the Braves go through the competition winning all their games
Re: Exeter Braves vs Quins A team
Sorry there was a poll earlier in this forum in the week for both the European and English teams and these two were contenders near the top in each poll. That's what I meant

Portnoy it was your poll. Are you writing that many articles you're forgetting them?
