County Championship Round 5 Discussion Thread

Just two days after the last round was meant to finish, another round of Championship fixtures are upon us. There are again some riveting looking matches in Division One. The forecast is not good, though at least it is better than last week
The following matches are scheduled:
Division 1

Worcs are sinking fast against Middlesex, 40-4 in the second innings. Honourable intentions from the captains to contrive a possibility of a positive result, but Darryl Mitchell seems to have forgotten the key bit of info that him and his fellow willow wielders can't bat for toffee.

With 16 points for a win and just 3 for a draw, it was probably a gamble worth taking. There again ....

We'd be fine if someone could just remind our top 5 which end of the bat they're meant to be holding. Headless chickens the lot. Fingers crossed by the time Phil Hughes arrives he will have morphed back into a quality opening batsman.

It always looked likely that Lancs would not hold on to their title, which they won by a remarkable effort last season....But at this rate they are looking like relegation candidates...
