Weight stipulations
Floyd could give up 3lbs in his title fight against Cotto. Does this render catchweights in the lower weights as redundant?
People always say that the extra 1lb Cotto was forced to lose had no effect on hi, I disagree. It wasn't there to make things fair? Since when has alturism been involved in boxing. It was there because Roach knew that the extra 1lb would affect Cotto in a negative way. If Floyd can give up 3 lbs, who couldn't Pac?

He lost 2 pounds didn't he? Wasn't the catchweight 145?

Re: Weight stipulations
Yep he did. Why couldn't pac come in at 144 or thereabouts and still make the fight against a fit and strong Cotto. Floyd gave him 3 lbs and still won out.

Re: Weight stipulations
Mayweather beat a Cotto that was comfortable. Remember Cotto must have been struggling to make 147 because he moved up soon after. Forcing him to 145 is even worse.

Re: Weight stipulations
There is a valid argument that as Pac beat him he had nothing left at 147 and easier pickings at 154. Possibly true. But for me I believe as you do that he must have killed himself to make 145.
