Madrid Masters - Day 5 thread
First topic message reminder :
Ok all...after the stupendous events of yesterday (i.e. Nadal didnt take Verdasco to the bakers on clay), we have another mouthwatering array of matches to watch today. And to see who can remain on their feet the whole match too!
12:00pm Dolgo vs JMDP
This should be very interesting...I'm going to go for a JMDP win though...think Dolgo will be tired from his exploits this event
2:30pm Verdy vs Berdy
We know the form...Fernando has a big win then tanks the next match. But then so does Berdy...ohhh a quandry. I'm going for Cloud9 Verdy!
6.00pm Djokovic vs Tipsy Battle of the Serbs!
If Novak can stay on his feet long enough he should have this one in the bag...its against the law in Serbia for Tipsy or Viktor to beat Novak. Or to miss the 'Family Djokovic Open' as well!
6.00pm Ferrer vs Federer
Metronome vs Flair. Oh dear Daveeed...expect to be doing some scampering today! Straights to The Fed.
Wonder which court Federer or Novak will get? We know the Centre Court is the slippiest...that wouldnt please Novak one iota!

Yeah... Got the feeling that he was trying hard to lose.
BPs 0/0 for Ferrer. Pretty

Ferrer did play some astounding shots along with his unusual errors, so the game was a mixed bag, but the way Fed easily handled Ferrer is a testimony to his talent, even Rafa didnt handle Ferrer with such ease on clay when they last met.
No idea how it turned out to be boring match, may be you just can't see Fed winning when your heroes fall, you should have had 70+ boring tournaments then.

this guy really doesn't like federer at all and seems to have made it his personal goal to degrade him from his performances, to his interviews and his accolades.

Did you like the Federer-Raonic match or Nadal-Verdasco match?
In fact, did you like any matches in Madrid 2012?

You know what, I know you since old 606. You have all sorts of problems with Federer. But my favourite will always be how you find him responsible for advent of top-spin forehand in men's game... lol.

I really don't see how you can observe fortune for Federer and overlook how Seles owned Graf until the assault. Classy? Sorry, that's just an attempt to evade this inconvenient fact.

Too true it was. Unquestionably the worst event at a tennis match ever.laverfan wrote:bogbrush wrote:Beats needing a knife in the back of the #1 to rescue his career.graf_the_greatest wrote:Or knows that now that there is no real competition he can win another Masters tournament

My observation is not the event, but GTG's problems of perspective, griping over Federer aving some rivals lose early and overlooking (via his nic) this immense and awful event.

To each his own, BB. Diversity and subjectivity of fans drives the Tennis juggernaut and the consequent marketing machine.

Interesting how some people are trying to demean the tournament should Federer win it. Seems like a trend on here. When Fed does well it's because his rivals (add any excuse from the litany).
In any case, I quite fancy Berdych to win now. He has always been a tough opponent for Roger and on this surface his strengths are even further magnified. I hope Del Po puts him to the sword.

Well I fancy a Del Po Tournament win, he deserves it if he wins it, now asterisk whats so ever.

DelPo-Berdy should be an interesting power game. It may be a repeat of Rotterdam final, if both Federer and DelPo win their respective matches.
