First topic message reminder :

Morning all Smile

So here we are...a day of blue skies and blue courts at the business end of the tournament.

2:30pm - #10 Delpo vs #6 Berdy
Battle of serves and inside out FHs! Berdych has been in tremendous form this event...he's my pick today.

6.00pm - #3 The Maestro vs #7 Tipsy
Hard to see beyond Roger today...Tipsy can be a handful if on form but won't be able to handle the variety thrown him.

Your picks?

CC - you deserve credit for introducing Andy M into a discussion specifically about the respective merits and prospects of the two Finalists in a tournament in which he hasn't actually competed Wink

That's what I call loyalty !

Just making an observation lags. As when Berdych beat Murray recently he was painted as a journeyman of sorts but now all of a sudden he is elevated into superman status that is my problem here you see.

Is it a bird is it a plane? - no it's Berdieman!
Federer is Fedoraman.

ps Federer beats Berdiemen 95 times out of a 100. Be surprised if this is not a straight sets victory for Federer - who has always been able to handle the big-hitters. It's the grinders he can't handle (in particular the Fedora-Slayer, ManicoraMan)

Well CC, don't know who it was that painted Berdy as a 'journeyman of sorts' ; but I do know it most definitely wouldn't have been me.

No player who has comfortably held down a place well inside the top 10 (and for close to 2 years so far...) can ever be a journeyman to me.

I've always hated that sort of trashing talk anyway. The likes of Catalan Power and UE (aka SA, aka TT) consistently tainted the old 606 with it - for example, frequently labelling Andy Roddick as "a clown." Yeah, right..... like we all believe it Rolling Eyes ....... a former World No. 1 and USO Champion

No not saying it was you lags72 but comments were there and brought about another dose of talk of how Murray was finished as a contender because he lost to Berdych. You know the sort - a defeat and massive knee jerk reactions.

The thing I like about Berdych is his willingness to keep going the offensive after missing a few times, Murray could learn alot.

@ CC - r u a comic clown?

I just said Big Berd is the biggest test in the given conditions , and its not gonna be easy for Fed to win, are you watching the finals? if so you would understand it.

The problem with persons like you is that you don't watch tennis and rather comment based on scores, the way BB dismissed my fav player DP said it all.

Go watch tennis before posting comments, coz you make yourself look silly and embarrsed. censored

Err no I suggest it is Murray-haters who rethink before posting. It was them who were wetting themselves with excitement when Berdych beat Murray a few weeks ago and wrote Murray's epitaph on the grounds that Berdych (in their eyes NOT MINE) that Berdych was some sort of a mug. They also use the likes of him as a way to claim this is a weak era as he makes up a weak set of players in the top ten. Those people all look rather silly just now do they not invisiblecoolers?

Absolutely. Berdych is a very tough opposition. Tough opponent and biog hitter who when on form is a match for anyone.
