PREMIERSHIP REVIEW:

Well we have ourselves our inaugural Premier League Champion as Mr consistent himself Manos Die Piedra scores a healthy 7 in the final week to overhaul 88chris05 and claim not just the league title but with it immunity from relegation in Season 2. Missing out by just 2 points was Tophat24/7 who scored a hefty 10 this week to climb above his nearest competitors. 88chris05 finished 3rd but will be left ruing his final weeks picks as he had his worst points total with a meagre 2! Claiming the final coveted top 4 spot was Compelling & Rich who pips Randy77 based on having the highest individual score across the 4 weeks. Whilst those finishing in 2nd, 3rd & 4th will be disappointed not to have won the title their final positions does mean a later entry into the next OMPL Cup. Elsewhere lfc91 chose a good time to have a strong week as his 13 points steered him safely away from relegation, he will hope that he can carry on his good form and make a challenge for the title next season. Taking the mantle of ‘The Great Escape’ it was an incredible week for DavidBlunkettsUppercut whose ten points meant a last day escape from relegation...more Premier League predictions await for him next season. As for the unfortunate soles it was a miserable end to a miserable season for sodhat whose solitary point was never going to aid him in his battle for survival. Alanqlm, Ermietrude & DaveVDK join him with all three failing to get predictions in often enough to stand a chance. Incredibly AdamK joins them...after looking comfortable all season he decided that this was the week to fail to get his predictions in. The result...Championship football next season.

CHAMPIONSHIP REVIEW

What a final weekend it was in the Championship as everyone fought tooth & nail to attempt to get into the glamour of the Premier League. In the end Imperial Ghosty ran away with the title amassing an impressive 55 points. He was an unknown quantity with his late arrival this season but has been the stand out player...based on his form he could surprise again next year in the top flight. 2nd place went to tomfinneywalksonwater who has consistently been in and around the top this season and thoroughly deserved his spot in the Premiership. The remaining 3 automatic promotion spots saw surprises and change galore. In a staggering final weekend ShahenshahG & sherm came from nowhere to steal their spots. 6oldenbhoy despite a meagre 5 points managed to cling onto the final automatic spot. As1079 had a strong week and his 12 was good enough to grab him a 2nd chance for promotion, taking 1 of 4 playoff places. Joining him is owen10ozzy & PPVxHOTTY (whose 19 in week 2 is the only reason he grabbed a play-off place rather than face relegation). The final playoff spot goes to Alma...at the expense of spencerclarke (separated merely by the fact Alma’s 2nd highest week total was more than spencerclarke’s). It was a case of heartache for soldier of fortune & barneyrubble who went from automatic promotion places to missing out altogether due to a poor week in which both only managed 3 points. As for the relegation places they remain the same...bellchees & John Bloody Wayne will think what may have been had they got their predictions in each week. Much like Knowsit whose failure to predict in 2 of the 4 weeks was always going to leave him up against it. As for Hampo171...well the form book doesn’t lie and his poor prediction skills left a lot to be desired. All 4 players will now be banished from competing in Season 2 and will have to wait for their opportunity to prove themselves. (Please note you will still be eligible to compete in the cup competition).

Steffan - You really have had a shocker. From being the king of the chatter in the preceding days you face expulsion from next season at this rate! Perhaps no extra training but just a little more focus rather on researching the fighters rather than being on here giving it the big one :p

Bit of a risk, but I'm pretty sure I was originally in the Championship not the Premiership? Scores look right (v proud of my 13 this week, won't be beating that any time soon!) but I seem to have jumped a division.

How the hell have I got the joint highest score over both divisions thus far, I know jack **** about most of the boxers that have fought although I did come second in the virtual betting thread many moons ago with a single incorrect bet over 10 weeks.

I do my research first to try and calculate the most likely outcome, for instance there are a higher proportion of split decisions in the lower divisions than the higher ones with so few genuine power punchers.

Id agree with a re-count if I didn't fear the amount of work it might cause you, because just from looking at Compelling and Rich's selections from last week... he got 3 perfect, 2 correct and 1 completely wrong, and 15 points... yet I got 3 perfect and 3 correct none wrong but only got 13.

Ok Alanqlm -

You got 1 point for predicting the Froch win, 4 for predicting that Harrison would win, by KO, and early (so 3 correct and the bonus point for getting all 3), 4 for Frampton win, by decision & Unaminous, Maderna was correct but you did not predict method etc so you just get 1 point for that, same for cano, you got 2 for Cote as you predicted he would win and by KO...but said by early. so no point and subsequently bonus point. That = 13points

Now if you look at compelling his breaks down as follows - 0 for Bute, 2 points for predicting Harrison & by KO, 4 points for predicting Frampton by UD, 4 for Maderna by UD, 4 for cano by LKO and 1 for cote. As you can see in the Frampton, Maderna & Cano fights he predicted the winner, method & style (i.e. EKO,LKO,UD,SD etc etc) so he gets the full 3 points and the bonus point each time. So his total = 15 points.

Simples!...Luckily for you it didnt take to long so this time I shall not deduct any points from you

PS How are you going to separate people on joint points? I suggest the person whose had the highest individual gameweek total, failing that then second highest gameweek total etc.
