Stadium for Cornwall Petition
Hopefully the rugby community can help to get Cornwall County Council to change its mind, by signing the petition.

How about a "better stadium for just over the bridge from twickenham but please make sure the toilets are up to standard" campaign so LWelsh can get promoted and not move?

I'd be a little embarrassed to be a Newcastle fan , they'd better play their socks off next season, staying up due to a technicality. Has someone checked their toilet facilities ?

What's the point of saying you'd be embarrassed to be a Newcastle fan? I'm just trying to stick up for the little guy

By picking on a team with one of the smallest budgets in the Rabbo ?
I said 'little embarrassed to be a Newcastle fan' because they know they are only in the Premiership due to a technicality and the farce that is the relegtion system, not through merit.

You just wanted to take a cheap shot at the Aviva prem and Newcastle don't try and dress it up.

Re: Stadium for Cornwall Petition
Well they're in the premiership because they have an off-field structure that is good enough for top level domestic rugby in England. London Welsh don't and nor do Pirates. What's there to be embarrassed about? The lower clubs have an option of developing their club up to the required standard (like Exeter did) and then they can get it. Much better than ring-fencing, which would close off that possibility.

Correct, coming from someone with a username taking the mick out of another country you are clearly the better person here, I humbly apologise...
London Welsh obviously think they have a case, they are considering court action. If I new my team were only treading water due to having a better stadium then I'd feel a little sheepish.

I've added my name to the petition and wish Pirates well in their attempt to meet the requirements. Having proved they've potentially got the support they deserve a better home. Good luck guys.

Re: Stadium for Cornwall Petition
Do you think that this petition is going to look a bit suspicious - what with all of us erstwhile tin miners and fishermen signing up from their quaint holiday cottages in Bristol, Wales, Leeds, Suffolk etc?

I think that's a risk we'll just have to take.
I suppose having a good geographical spread may convince Cornish council that they'll have a regular biweekly influx in to their beautiful county. In the winter months too, when seasonal trade is not so great! This will hopefully convince them that the great Phil Vickery's (lej, whatever nationality you are! ) comments are correct and by blocking the stadium they will, in effect, be shooting themselves in the foot. Generation of local jobs and stimulation of the local economy by getting local contractors to build the stadium, followed by regular further stimulation of said economy when we all go down, have a few beers, watch a rugby match and stay for a weekend.... Plus use during the summer as a conference venue, concert venue.....it really is a no brainer!
Pob lwc Kernow!
