Quins v Tigers
Quins v Tigers
First topic message reminder :
Who do you think will win?
Personally I think the Tigers will win at a canter.
All the momentum and Tigers' form can't help the Toffs at nearly-home.
Well if they're going to get anywhere near Dublin Athletic next year, they'd best start laying down a few markers.

Re: Quins v Tigers
Quins' lineout is really letting them down in key moments. Didn't look great between Gray & Kohn in the shots during warm up either.
Their offloading game has been good quality though and made the difference in their attacks.

Re: Quins v Tigers
Thats gonna be a citing for Manu -worse than Afoa's and Afoa got 4 weeks.
Barnes git it right, at no point is it dangerous as Care is put down in his side, tip tackles are only dangerous if the head or shoulder hits the floor. Hence why Afoa got a ban.
Should've been yellow there. Tuilagi didnt use his arms
You mean where his left arm goes round Brown before Brown bounces backwards. Now Easter taking out Youngs before he caught the ball or the Quins sealing the ball off 5 metres from their own try line were both mire worthy of a carding than Waldrom.
Be helpful if Tigers senior players could atop making awful mistakes. I'm thinking Alesana not doting the ball down for the 22 particularly.

Re: Quins v Tigers
Quins have definitely looked the better, sharper side in attack so far. Bit of a fortunate (if well taken) try from Tigers off the back of a misfiring Quins lineout to get them right back in it. You expect Tigers to keep coming and come harder in the latter stages of the game though, so should be a cracking second half.

Great game so far. Both teams actually looking to give it a lash which is a refreshing change to some finals.
Wonder if Tigers will look to tighten the game up in the 2nd half, specially now they are starting a man down? Hope not, it's been fun to watch so far

What did Waldron do to get carded? Stupid ref mix isn't working.

Lets wait and see if he gets cited, my interpretation is that he probably should.

Re: Quins v Tigers
Tuilagi with a high tackle this time, thats a tip tackle, no use of arms and a high tackle now, given away 2 penalties with a possible citing to come - he needs to be way more disciplined.

Manu is just a bit twp really isn't he?
Really glad I decided to watch this final now, it's been a cracker so far, very open for a final. Youngs has done brilliantly to get Tigers back in it.

hoho
seems to be down to a few players being switched off, which is rare for tigers. the Tuilagis are usually big game players but seem to be trying too hard today. Waldroms just been meh.

Good for the league to see a club that wasnt even a strong favourite for the playoffs to win. Unpredictability is important for leagues, sure Tigers make the final every year but theres plenty of variation in the winners.

The IRFU need to get their hands on O'Shea. I'd love if he was the next Leinster coach. Don't think his relations with the IRFU are very good though.

Very well done Quins. You finished top and won the stupid second chance for losers too. If Tigers would have won the league and lost this nonsense of a game I'd be gutted.....Well done and congrats!

+1 but it ain't going to happen as long as the useless shower of blazers who run the IRFU are in control - it'll be abother timeserver when we need new blood and new thinking in the shapes of Schmidt or O'Shea.
Great game though for a neutral (who leant towards Quins because of O'Shea). Tigers however were useless behind the scrum apart from Youngs in the second half, the two Tuilagis were equally bad and at no.8 Waldrom is a total liability - his penalty and sinbin just before half time the result of total stupidity. Quins went to sleep in last 20 minutes but had enough of a lead to hold on.

I thought Robshaw was great this afternoon.
But in all hionesty, do you realy think that Waldrom deserved to get a yellow card?

Ive seen them given before. Its pretty clear Waldrom believed what he was doing was legal, which whilst not excusing the penalty do excuse him of the "professional foul". But it was a goodish attacking position the 22 and Tigers had been penalty heavy. Letting the Tuilagi tackle go may have been playing on Barnes' mind too.
I cant say it was an absolute travesty, theres validity to the case either way. Its by no means the most controversial moment in sports history.
Lots of moments in the game that couldve been called differently, but Im struggling to think of anything that was outrageously bad.
On their day Tigers couldve won that. Fit Flood may have helped too, although the kid did well. Sad for the guys who are leaving
