Seems Haye was right after all
First topic message reminder :
Sky Sports are reporting that, according Bernd Boente, Haye WAS offered a fight with Vitali in September but opted to fight Chisora as it was "an easier task" (according to the K Bros mouthpiece).
Now whilst pretty much everyone will agree that Chisora is an easier fight than Vitali, one thing it does prove is that both Haye and Adam Booth were right when they criticised the K Bros team for going back on an earlier agreement. You will recall that, after Booth was inadvertantly assaulted by Haye, he turned to Vitali and said, "I respect you as a fighter, but your manager is a b!tch!" Boentehad spent most of the post Chisora fight conference denying that any agreement had ever been reached despite Haye asking repeatedly, "Why won't you give me the fight, I agreed to everything you've asked." and yet now he's telling everyone a deal was reached but Haye bottled it.
Anyone else think that the fact this Haye/Chisora "fight" has shifted over 20,000 tickets for a glorified pub brawl, the K Boys are again seeing Euro signs before their eyes.
Whilst it probably wouldn't make a jot of difference to the outcome if Haye and Vitali fought, it's nice to see that Boente is finally being shown up for the lying little slimebag he generally comes across as.

he clearly wanted the fight and only didnt sign because of pride over percentages.
vitali's people said they are lining people up for october or there abouts, none of which are haye.
if he'll fight Wlad he'll fight his not-as-good-brother.
He wanted the Wlad fight when it suited him. I dont think he wanted right after he had won the WBA belt because he wanted to earn off that and the Audley fight was basically a money spinner which postponed a Klitschko fight.
I think he wants a Vitali fight only in the context of the money he can earn for it. But as Chisora has shown, if he can make good money elswhere for lower risk, as with Audley, I think hes happy to forgoe a Klitschko fight.
A few weeks after the Chisora brawl Vitali said publically he would fight Haye, they also offered him a fight last year (Haye didnt like the terms).
It wouldnt surprise me that the reason Warren was so unwilling to wait for Chisoras appeal date and rush through with the Chisora/Haye fight at the expense of antagonising the BBBC was because he thought the fight would disappear and Haye would end up fighting Vitali later in the year which would leave the Chisora fight dead.
Now that Haye has got a good offer to fight Chisora hes not too fussed about fighting Vitali although if he beats Chisora I would expect him to start calling out Vitali again.
Theres no reason for Vitali to ever avoid Haye. There nothing Haye has done to earn this avoided, dangerous tag hes put on himself. I dont think it has ever been a case in the past or present that either Klitschkos has had any reservation about fighting Haye no matter what Haye says. Its always been a question of agreeing terms and timing. With a lucrative much lower risk Chisora fight on the table Haye doesnt need a Vitali fight right now like he did before the press conferance - which in my opinion was designed by Haye to build interest in a Vitali fight.
Warren made the chisora fight because its an obvious fight to make. Easy to sell and its already been promoted. I doubt Vitali entered into his mind in the manner you're describing.
K2 are playing games as they usually do. They may say they don't need Haye, but simple economics proves otherwise. They want Haye because it will be a bigger fight that against anyone else. And they feel its a low risk high reward after Haye's last performance. Plus Haye seriously pi$$ed them off.
I don’t agree whatsoever the Klitschkos need Haye. Either financially or from a legacy point of view. They are both very wealthy individuals. Wlad has already beaten him and Vitali doesn’t even need to box these days being at the tail end of his career with a career in politics lined up. Haye doesn’t do much for him. Money isn’t a problem for them and Hayes bubble has burst. Haye is the one that that needs them if hes anyway serious about leaving a lasting legacy at heavyweight (I don’t think he is). The heavyweight division doesn’t revolve around Haye. Its not even clear what kind of money Haye could offer Vitali without his Sky ppv, and coming off a decisive loss to his brother, with no title his appeal was nowhere near as strong as last year when he was seen by many as a real world champion with a decent chance of beating Wlad and a Sky tv campaign behind him offering increased revenue.
The Chisora/Haye fight made sense for Warren to make, but not to completely fall out with the BBBC over for the sake of waiting a couple more weeks for a hearing. Why the need to rush? Its common knowledge the Haye/Vitali camps were in negotiations. Both camps agree offers were made however neither side claim an agreement was signed. Neither side have denied this. Vitali said he would fight Haye, Haye said he would fight Vitali. I suspect Warren felt he had to move fast with an offer that would tempt Haye or else risk losing out to a Haye/Vitali fight being made instead. He came up with the money and the means to stage the fight and Haye was happy to accept.
Boente is saying that Haye opted for Chisora instead of Vitali because he fears Vitali. Only partially true. I believe he opted for Chisora because it was good money at much less risk. If he didn’t want a Vitali fight he would have stayed retired and never bothered pushing for it in the first place. However prior to the brawl, Vitali was the fight that offered Haye the kind of money and stage he wanted and thus was worth the risk. Doesnt really matter if Haye loses the fight as he has little to lose in that position anyway. Now the public brawl has made Chisora viable and hes less of a threat.
Haye meanwhile will say Vitali is scared of him and doesn’t want the fight. More waffle. Why would he be? We know the camps were negotiating and we know offers were made so its silly for him to suggest Vitali wanted no part of it.
I actually suspect Boente is right when he says Haye chose Chisora over Vitali but I don’t believe its because hes afraid of taking the Vitali fight. Its just Chisora is an easier option and financially lucrative.

Re: Seems Haye was right after all
Throughout Haye's heavyweight career he has shown a marked ability and willingness to say one thing only to do the complete opposite. Said he would not fight Audley Harrison, shortly before doing just that. Dismissed the possibility of fighting Chisora just weeks before signing to fight him and has said countless times he would only break his "retirement" for a Klitschko before breaking it for someone who is most assuredly not a member of their family. This is someone who as, at best shown a willingness to be flexible with the truth or at worst has shown themselves to be a barefaced liar. Given this it seems remarkable to me that so many people are willing to accept every word he says about the Klitschko's at face value. He has really not conducted himself in a way to suggest he deserves such loyalty.

Amuses me that he always says, I get stopped in the street and nagged to beat so-and-so, I'm doing it for the people. I wonder if it's some Truman Show stunt by Frank Warren ,cos the guy definitely is not wandering the same planet as the rest of us

Its not a question of Vitali not needing the money. He's a pro boxer and all pro boxers will fight for their highest purse possible. Haye brings more cash that any other HW out there, partly because of the history between him and K2.
Frankly I would trust Warren more than Boente. He seems to lie with alarming regularity. I recall a sky sports interview with him and Booth and was made to look like a dodgy second hand car salesman at best.

So whats its supposed to be? Vitali is afraid of Haye? Vitali wants to fight Haye? The usual mixed and contradictory messages from the Haye camp.
To me it looks obvious, as with the Harrison fight, that a financially lucrative offer has presented itself to Haye and he isnt going to turn it down. Its obvious K2 and Haye were in negotiations prior to Warren making the Chisora fight and its seems to me to be the case that Haye has opted to fight Chisora in July.
Even Booth and Haye admits there was an offer on the table from Vitali on at least two occasions in the last 6 months. Only last month K2 had sent a contract offer of terms.
Yet supposedly it is Vitali running for the hills. Much like Wlad did before him.....
Its a pretty safe bet that all promoters lie but the is nobody out there that is more contradictory or hypocritical than Haye when it comes to this kind of thing. Is the talk to be expected? I suppose it is but it just continues to surprise that people are so willing to believe him all the time and try and pin the blame for everything he does or says on someone else. If you chose to believe the opposite of what Haye says then you would generally end up closer to the truth.
