Nice support for Bute here, to be honest. Should be a cracker
One on ones with Froch and links to Bute too

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
Having watched the Sky prog on him I have got a bit of a hunch that Bute doesn't really like boxing, and that he may lack a bit of the old instestinal fortitude.up to now I have assumed Froch doesn't stand a chance, based purely on what I have heard about Bute.Almost despite myself, as am not a Froch fan particularly, I think he will dig deep for this one,and simply wants it more.Could look a bozo in a few days after this post I know, but heck,I was a David Haye supporter once and you can never look yourself in the mirror properly after that.

i think 5/2 for bute stoppage looks appealing. if bute lands some of the shots johnson or ward hav done in frochs last 2 we could see frochs chin finally crack. hope not, hope froch is at his best and that we get a very close and entertaining brawl

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
I think stylistically this is the closest we ever get to seeing a Froch vs Calzaghe fight.
...and by that I mean Froch is likely to get outboxed but not necessarily hurt.
I find Froch has a tendency to load up and telegraph shots against a fighter with more technical ability. This is most likely down to frustration.
Bute is all wrong for Froch. Sadly I think he loses this one.. most likely on a clear but not huge (home fighter) UD.

Yep, same for me. I actually predicted it on the new (and improved) prediction league. I think Bute may actually 'win' the fight but Froch may get some home town judging. I can see two judges going either way and the third being 115/115 or something along those lines.

I'm not a gambler, but I did find a surprise tenner in my wallet yesterday, so wouldn't really be losing anything if I lost.

Followed your lead Sean, £10 on the draw (now down to 22/1, I think they are onto me!) and the free £10 on Froch by KO at 7/1.
Fingers crossed...

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
I see a Froch SD here.
I think Bute is a cracking puncher, and his left hook to the body is incredible, but Froch keeps his hands low so i don't see that punch getting through. Without it it'll be a case of going to Frochs head - and that means leaving yourself open. Bute has done that a few times while unloading and Froch won't wobble - he'll charge.
Froch will look impressive. vs. Arthur Abraham impressive. Bute however will look good in the opening few rounds. I see it being a 116 - 113 each and because its hometown and Froch will want it more - he'll get the nod.

I hope for your sake, and for British boxing he does.
I just don't see Bute going down, Froch isn't really a KO kinda boxer at this level

Froch looks a lot more ripped than previously. I think he's gone for speed personally. Bute is just Bute - massive lego head.
I think it'll be great. Really excited for it, one of the best fights this year I'd say.

Froch is definitley going to try and be more loose for this. He cannot load up like a sloth as he did v Ward

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
The likelihood is he'll take a few rounds to get used to Butes power - Bute will try to hurt him fast, and he'll know all about Froch being tough so he's likely to go for the body - its whether Froch can:
a) adapt to the southpaw stance fast
b) avoid that left hook - because it is a crushing shot.
From round 4 to 5 I see Froch opening Bute up more, he'll be looking to make him miss and then chase him. Bute hasn't really shown what he's capable of on the back foot so I think thats where Froch will take the fight.

Sounded like a home fight for Bute at the weigh in! He must have a big travelling support for this one.

Bute by late KO. Body punches will weaken Cary to the extent he will be defending them when a left cross/hook lands flush.

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
Unfortunately see Bute winning about 8 rounds to 4, just a little better in most areas at this stage.
However as most can testify from the old beeb 606 my predictions are nothing short of woeful, however I did pick Wlad over Mormeck recently so maybes I'm improving.
Cheers

Had to chuckle at Wlad v Mormek one
You are probably going to be right on Bute, I hope not, but logic says Bute points.

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
Im going for a Froch KO....9th round,..i actually see Froch having the early success then from rounds 4-7 I can see Bute slowly beginning to work him out...however due to Froch's quite insane chin and his come forward approach I see him grinding down Bute mentally before walking through him in Round 8 and then stopping him late in the 9th!!
If the fight goes exactly like that then I will be making sure I get some kind of nomination in the 606v2 awards!

Many people will have to agree that if Bute dosent knock Froch down at some point, it will be another hometown decision, that's why I would put my money on Froch points.

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
hard one to call... people doubt Froch because of the Ward fight.. but how good is Ward?..
Frosh usually seems to be able to nullify his opponents strengths and because he is such a good athlete despite his age he seems to still be able to learn and improve ..
He struggles against speed so this could be a factor.. but I think if he can really turn the fight into a brawl and pull his sleeves up he might be able to take Bute into a place he has not been to before and beat him..
if it turns into a boxing contest I think Bute will just nick the rounds and leave Froch with too much to do, catching up..

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
I see Bute staying on the outside as usual and out boxing Froch. Bute to dish out his lethal upper cuts and body punches when Froch manages to corner Bute.
Froch to look clueless at times with Bute winning by decision, by 4 rounds or so. I don't see Carl getting KO'd, he's just too tough.
Hope I'm wrong though.

Re: Froch v Bute final presser
I've got a feeling we're going to see something new from Carl, certainly a makeover from the Ward fight when he threw too many looping, wide shots. Short, sharp combos. In and out being watchful of the dangerous left hand counter.
Bute won't smother Froch a la Ward but his footwork and excellent head movement could dazzle him. Box in quickly, throw shots to the body (that doesn't move) and wear him down. Look to take him out late.
