Names for Centre and No 1 Courts
Wimbledon - rebrand?
The French Open have their Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen Courts.
The Australian Open have their Rod Laver and Margaret Court Arenas.
The US Open have their Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Courts.
Wimbledon have their Centre and No. 1 Courts.
Is it time to rename the main courts of Wimbledon and if so what should they call them?

lol
I quite like that we dont have names...its kind of like "tennis is bigger than any one individual (which it is) so we're not naming our courts after anyone...they're about everyone". Also, it would be somewhat devisive I would think...and seen as the others have gone for national tennis heros that just leaves us with Fred and Ginny! Seems that Tim is the only one with something named after him at Wimbledon...a hill!

Bad idea, I go with Lydian.
Anyway, Wimbledon is the Big One and doesn't need to mimic others; The French open is rebranding itself as "Roland Garros" because of their envy of the unique status of Wimbledon (which isn't "The British Open").

NS it seems that the US Open got its "Louise Armstrong Stadium" by default as the jazz singer apparently lived nearby.
In that case we'll need the Mick Jagger Arena (although I love the idea of Will.i.am and Cheryl Cole!) Anything but Sir Cliff actually.
