Maybe Serena Was Correct
I can remember a while back Serena Williams boasting that she could win on all surfaces when she was asked to do a photo shoot on a court made out of a swimming pool (strange but true). After winning the trophy in Madrid on the experimental blue clay she called two of the male players "weenies" for complaining about it. She proved that she can win on anything.
I'm watching her play Razzano at the moment. She is one tough lady and certainly no "weenie" herself. In fact as far as personality goes she would dominate on the male tour and leave many of the men sniveling like weenies.
She could teach Djokovic a thing or two about playing when the crowd cheer your opponant. She would also say something cutting about his shirt ripping chest beating antics so that he would be too embarrassed to ever do it again.
She could definately out snarl Nadal and teach him how to boast about how good he is.
Mmmm Now that I think about it what could she teach Federer. Oh yes no crying when you lose...
And Murray would save a fortune on expensive slam winning coaches. Just the thought of a distainful look from Serena or even worse the thought of her laughing at all his clutching at body parts and winging and whining would make him behave.
The male players should thank their lucky stars that Serena is a girl...
Oh dear whilst I've been typing this Serena's just lost the second set on a tie break. She better not lose! But even if she does I can guarantee that she won't cry.

Serena could even teach Roddick a thing or two about complaining against line judges.
And the Djokovic shirt ripping was to me the moment so far of 2012. An epic ending to an epic match. I want to see more of such stuff.

Re: Maybe Serena Was Correct
Everyone who plays sport at the very highest level finds that the emotions can get to them once in a while.
And Serena Williams is no exception.
Some players cry when they lose ; others cry when they win.
Serena cried at the USO way back in 1999.
But, for a far more recent example of Serena on-court tears (and right in front of live TV cameras) ..... look no further than last year's Wimbledon.

She's reported to be crying in this match and serving at 2-5 down in the 4th!

You've not had a very thrilling 2012 yet, by the sound of it.Chydremion wrote:Serena could even teach Roddick a thing or two about complaining against line judges.

Ha ha! Thanks for the generous half a star. The match was for me easily the best in the tournament so far. I presume you didn't watch it?

I only saw the last 10 minutes HE, but it was a hell of a ten minutes. A bizarre mixture of nervous shanks and awesome winners.
Serena is of course a great player and has a great mentality... Though its kind of ironic that this article prompted an unprecedented mental collapse from Serena that included tears, rants and complaining from her.
Rare admittedly. Hilarious timing though.
