Brian Blessed and William Shakespeare Empty Brian Blessed and William Shakespeare

Post by anotherworldofpain Tue 29 May 2012, 11:51 pm

Well is the queen jubilee ariving and so is time to think more cultured way for a weekend and also make a celebrate about British things before real rugby starting again next week.

So here I am thinking about characters of English literature and dramatics that I study about in culture and assimilation lessons. And always for me I like comparing to the rugby.

So I think if they instead play the rugby, what they do?

I pick William Shakespeare be the make a trouble with his mouth no. 10.

I pick Brian Blessed be the hooker of course.

Anyone can help me on make a few more so I can write my exam and not have to finish all this papers reading Hug

I think some people need to study more literature or perhaps the meaning of the word.....

How about George Orwell and David Irving on the opposite wings?

So I didn't focus enough. Doh

Then I suppose Kipling would do, or are poets not cultural enough?

And you would have to have Mary Shelley on the medical staff - she could patch up all of the injuries (keep an eye on her to make she matches the body parts up to the right person though)

On the spelling of Shakespeare things were more fast and loose on this in his day and there are six examples of his own signature with six different spellings none of them being "Shakespeare" so go with whatever you want as he seemed too .

Lord Byron would have made a devious gobshite of a scrum half just don't trust him in the bar afterwards with your wife/girlfriend/sister. In fact get Wordworth,Shelley and Keats in the backline too for a Romantic free running Barbarians type side.

Tommy Lee Jones.

Alright, listen up, people. Our fugitive has been on the run for ninety minutes. Average foot speed over uneven ground barring injuries is 4 miles-per-hour. That gives us a radius of six miles. What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area. Checkpoints go up at fifteen miles. Your fugitive's name is Dr. Richard Kimble. Go get him

Alright listen up boys, our opponent will run at you for 80 minutes, average speed phenominal, that gives us 15 guys with raw pace and power, I want each of you to target the rucks, the mauls, the line outs, check your defensive lines, and get them.

Yes I think were they sign "Franics" "Bacon" or "Marlowe"? Might be blood bin substitution under the dubious circumstance.

I think Henry VIII would be a great Prop, especially when he was older, he was nice and rotund.
Field Marshal Montgomery as a scrum half. He was a little guy and never stopped talking about himself.

Alastair Campbell for our media guy. Oh wait.........
Rupert Murdoch as Satan. Oh wait..........

JK Rowling to rummage up some wizardry at flyhalf.

Hugh Grant to create scandal at loosehead next to the hooker.

Graham Greene and his obsession with Catholic guilt as fetcher. I didn't have my hands where they shouldn't have been, sir! On the bench Oliver Twist. Please sir, I want some more.

DH Lawrence with his coarse working class language and womanising at the centre of all things hidden underneath a thin veil of respectability. Tindall was his modern reincarnation.

Shane Williams as The Hobbit. Even the smallest can bring about great change.

All true, however there is now a standardised accepted spelling that exam boards expect all students to use, so to not use it would be silly. Since the standardisation of English didnt happent until the 18th century and Johnsons dictionary its unsurpirising that WS didnt conform to a standard spelling of his name. thumbsup

just as an aside, Rochester made Byron look like a choirboy and was a better poet to boot.
