BREWWWWWWWW! Haha that was funny.
Didn't Louw also get MOTM the last time he played here? The Wales v SA (largely reserve team) in June?

Louw and Gorgonzola were awesome, but Ryan Jones and Hooky matched them.
Great test match rugby today, fair play.

Nice one!!
Lots of errors in the match, loads of things for the fringe players to improve on,but a few cracking performances hidden in there, and despite a good 20 mins being a bit dull, overall I enjoyed that.
Martyn a Shane, diolch i chi am bopeth (Martyn and Shane, thank you for everything)
Good for us to get the win before we head down to Australia

Re: Wales team vs Barbarians
Very good win lads, inexperienced outfit who have never played together at the same time before, give the lads allot of confidence going to Aus. Well done to Martyn Williams, fantastic player for Wales and he can retire a very proud man of what he has done.
The same to Shane, fantastic stuff.
Congrats to Harry Robinson for a debut try, he's got a bright future and hopefully he can get a few games under his belt for the Blues this season. Anyone who called him slow for a winger need to look at themselves again, he is very fast I can tell you.

Score flattered wales at the end, but the raft of subs in the second half did not help.
But good luck guys in oz, think you may win the first test but not sure after that.

I think we'll win the 2nd test but that's it. Reckon we might be too rusty to get the 1st one. Small margin for error at this level I guess.

Don't forget, as well as playing a lot of newbies today, the whole team have been under a sub-coach with Gatland being off. He's supposed to be back in Oz isn't he? Surely that will make a difference to the team.

Great game wonderful crowd...
Well done Wales...
Looking forwards to seeing a few of these young lads playing at this level more often.

I don't think we will be rusty Dreamer. The boy's have gone out early to get acclimatised and get some good workouts in training. The rest of the squad will be coming out on the back of a win, confidence will be high and I hope we can put in a good performance that can win us the first test.

Back to help out for the second test they hope. Howley will stay in charge though.

aye but it's a long time from March till now for us to have played together as a team. First half especially we'll have a few kinks to iron out I reckon.

Re: Wales team vs Barbarians
So Wales' bench from now on could consists of: Richard Hibbard or Matthew Rees, Ryan Jones, Rhys Gill/Ryan Bevington, Rhodri Jones/James, Bradley Davies or Luke Charteris, James Hook, Ashley Beck, Rhys Webb. Good bench.

A lovely bench that really. There are a few other players that could be involved too. (Like Tips if Warbs starts etc, but I guess supersub Ryan is in his way...)

Because Wales U20s need all the help they can get. I think Wales are covered out in Aus, no need to bring Harry just yet.

Wow I forgot about Tips. You could minus one prop from the bench (as I selected two) and for for Rhodri or Paul. With the latter moving to Bath I think Gatland may opt for the former in the near future.

Re: Wales team vs Barbarians
Jiffy made me laugh with 10 mins to go he was cushioning the mainly welsh viewers for a loss talking up the power of the Baabaas & Wales ineffective tackling to stop them at the gain line.
Then all of a sudden,as in many Baabaas games, it's hairum Scareum stuff & Wales squeak a win.
Not easy being a commentator.

They were to announce the 34 to go to Aus, straight after the game did it happen?

Well, that was much closer than I was expecting. Only caught the end, but thought Wales would score a few more tries than that.
I'll try and watch it later to see what happened.
Still, like England and Ireland it was a depleted side.

Really? I only had Wales down to win by 6, game went pretty much as I thought. Disruption of loads of subs in the 2nd half really effected us.

This evening I think.
Im going to say Bishop, Brew, Bevington and Harries won't be going. Not sure how many they are dropping (6?)

Just great to get so many lads a run out.
That was a very handy Baa Baa side. They have improved remarkably in a week.

Yeah, all the subs do mess up the game a bit especially when it isn't a full-strength side anyway. No, I just thought there would be more tries. Perhaps the Baa Baa's are little more organised since England destroyed them.rugbydreamer wrote:sugarNspikes wrote:Well, that was much closer than I was expecting. they really tried to ground it up in the forwards SugarnSpikes, first 20 of the 2nd half anways.

Re: Wales team vs Barbarians
wales are showing that spirit again. never say never and play the last 10 mins the best. the best teams do that- i remember in the good england days when we would just wipe the floor with teams last 20 mins due to fitness. I suppose in this case the baabaas are getting on abit so it is sort of expected. But all the same a win is a winn and its better than any loss

Re: Wales team vs Barbarians
I don't think anyone cares that Shane threw a bad pass. He scored in his last test for Wales, last home game for Osprey's and scored the winning try in his final club match to beat the HC champions Leinster on their own turf to win the RDP 12.
What a great player, great guy also. Will be sorely missed but thank goodness we have Cuthbert, North and now Robinson waiting in the wings to take over the wing spot he will leave behind.

One of the four not to go to Aus will be M Williams so only three will be disappointed, Biggar may not go if he is unlluky with injury.
The impression I had the coaches were going to announce to the crowd of the MS, I thought that would be unfair on the guys left behind. I am glad they did not.
I had a poor stream but Duncan Jones looked as if he was giving the Wales TH a hard time, he looked as if he was turning in near the end of the game?

I was just reading that Biggars shoulder injury is going to be assessed over the next 24 hours, if he is ruled out then who comes in to the squad as cover, Matthew Morgan or Stephen Jones?

Rhodri Jones was playing at THP when he is usually a LHP, and he did pretty well considering.
I think that 18/23 (Bevington was +1 for the Baabaas game) and flying out.
Martyn, Brew, Harries, Bishop and Warren to stay at home I guess.
Actually, Bevington might stay too...maybe Bishop will go? I don't know.

Stephen Jones is the safe option for 3rd choice cover.
