Iron Man 3
So they have started the filming of Iron Man 3 with the Mandarin being the main bad guy this time round, also the Iron Patriot Armour has being seen on set, does this mean Norman Osborns, Dark Avengers will be showing up soon or maybe in the other sequels of Thor and Captain America?

Re: Iron Man 3
I'm not familiar with the Iron Patriot, but what you're describing sounds a bit much for one movie on top of the Mandarin and Extremis [both of which now seem to be more or less confirmed as featuring in this instalment]... Could well be just a wink to the very knowledgeable members of the audience!

Re: Iron Man 3
Well according to the pictures in the artical below he is definatly in it but it wont be Osborn in the suit but Lt. Col. Eric Salvin, aka Coldblood (actor James Badge Dale) who was in the second instalment.

Re: Iron Man 3
Tbh iron man has run its course, 2 was very average and stark was just a hindrance in the avengers.
Thor 2 then leave it IMO, but too much of a money spinner unfortunately.

Iron Man 2 was awesome, all of these films have been great. They could go on for years due to the comics if they wanted to, hopefully this'll be another good watch.

Woah, I thought Stark was class in the Avengers. My favourite character, along with Bruce Banner. I never saw Ironman 2, but if 3 is a patch on the first film then it will be fantastic.

Re: Iron Man 3
I enjoyed the 2 Ironman films the first more so the second and Stark was great in the Avengers I thought all the characters blended well and had as much screen time as each other, the 3rd film should be interesting and hopefully they dont kill off the Mandarin at the end so he can come back in a later film

Re: Iron Man 3
Iron Man is one of my favourite superheroes and I have enjoyed the two films so far - Robert Downey Jr was a superb choice for Tony Stark/Iron Man and I absolutely love the idyosyncrecies he's brought to the role. I thought Iron Man 2 did well to develop the character further showing his vulnerability as well as his brilliance. I think incorporating the Extremis graphic novel into the next film is a good idea - Stark is a futurist at the end of the day and technological innovation is a big part of the Iron Man films, so Extremis would seem like the next logical step in the franchise. But of course it all depends on how many Iron Man films they have planned in the pipe line!?

Re: Iron Man 3
It is being reported that the leaked photo was of an updated War Machine rather than Iron Patriot... Sounds plausible, but I'd take anything about this film at this early stage with a pinch of salt.

There's Dredd to look forward to in the meantime! A pretty cool poster has now been released:

awesome news about Dredd, first I've heard of it! I'm all for a remake that does the graphic novels justice.

Re: Iron Man 3
Not sure how long it's been up on IMDB, but certain other casting now seems confirmed by Empire:
* Guy Pearce - Aldrich Killian
* Rebecca Hall - Maya Hansen [both of these consistent with Extremis connection]
* Ashley Hamilton - Firepower [what? Armour Wars as well?!?]

Re: Iron Man 3
Aslong as this franchise grants a huge return of investment for the studios I don't think they will stop churning them out.
The original was great as an introduction to anyone who wasn't familiar with Tony Stark and his character Iron Man and as a platform for Avengers.
Unfortunately I found IM2 to be dreadful. I found Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwells characters (One of my favourite actors I might add) to be under developed and way too much use of product placement throughout. The story was just really poor. It became a parody and unzipped all the original had achieved in my opinion.

Agree with SharkSoul, the original was actually better.

New armour has been revealed at Comic-Con.
So is this the Extremis/nanobot upgrade?
And is it way too much gold???

Another Empire report from Comic-Con, having seen a reel of footage from Iron Man 3. Note their spoiler alert if you prefer to avoid.

Sounds like the production is rather more advanced than I thought.

Re: Iron Man 3
The 2nd one was crap.......Real let down ending and a waste of Mickey Rourke.....
Besides Downey Jr is nothing Tony Stark in the comics......
He's a macho Howard Hughes industrialist type who's meant to look like Robert Taylor or Clark Gable...
Not a Short butt wisecracking muppet.

Truss I'm guessing you don't read comics because Downey Jr portrays Tony Stark brilliantly!

Re: Iron Man 3
Sounds like it'll be the last time Downey Jr suits up as Ironman as Marvel studios aren't prepared to meet his fee demands for any further ironman or avengers movies

Re: Iron Man 3
Downey Jr's better as Tony Stark than he is as Sherlock Holmes...but that doesn't say much does it.
