Your Favourite Knock Out
Hi guys. Just wondering what everyone's favourite KO ever is?
It doesn't have to be the obvious ones, the picture perfect ones, but maybe a KO you love because it involved a favourite fighter of yours getting recognition, or redemption? Or a fighter you didnt like getting his comeuppance?
The one that always springs to my mind is Lewis KO4 Rahman. As a big fan of Lennox I felt he let himself down being underprepared for Rahman first time out, and suffred an unneccessary defeat that would give detractors ammo to question his standing. He let an ordinary fight beat him, which annoyed me because I knew he was so much better. In getting revenge he didn't erase that mistake - it will always stay with him, but he at least avenged it and was able to secure the legacy of beating every man he'd ever fought, which pleased me greatly. And of course, it was an absolute peach of a KO - clinical and utterly devastating:

Gatti vs Rodriguez
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM_xMelT06g
Gatti was getting beat quite handily early on and got knocked down to go with it, both his eyes swelled up a crazy amount in just a few rounds, then left hook and lights out Rodriguez. Just another day at the office for Gatti.

It's not my favourite but I think this one from the Nigerian Nightmare is quite underrated:

My favourite of all time, as a Hearns fan is that near decapitation of Duran. But we've all seen that one.

I'll second that Sugar boy, it was a perfect punch and sweet revenge for Lewis. Mind you Rahman's knockout a few months wasn't a bad punch either.

Some beauties, here.
I'd add Jackson's kayo of Herol Graham, ( even though I was rooting for Graham all the way, ) Eubank's over Thornton, and Robinson's over Gene Fullmer.

Shane Mosley's hook to Manny's body that drops him like an anvil
May 7th, round 5, fight over...D4 quits the boards!
Everyone's a winner...'cept Manny (but I doubt he'll care what with having the school run to keep him occupied)

Another spectacular one is Walcott's kayo of Charles, and while we're at it, some folks reckon Marciano's demolition of Walcott to be the Grandaddy of them all.

Allan Green against Jaidon Codrington was jaw dropping stuff!
Froch v Taylor was a favourite of mine, due to the timing of the stoppage and the fact i had Taylor winning the fight clearly.
The Martinez v Williams KO probably tops the list though for me. Beautiful.

Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
Ali's KO of Foreman is my favourite closely followed by his KO of Cleveland Williams. The combo he threw to beat both of them was simply violent poetry.
I'll add the KO by RJJ when he had his hands behind his back. And Tarver's KO of RJJ was particularly violent.
Tito against Simon Brown when Brown continued punching as he was out cold.

Michael Sprott's KO of Audley was a belter...more for the sheer joy of seeing Harrison laid out like a roll of carpet
Erik Morales' demolition of Angel Chacon...he hits him three times whilst he's falling to the canvas.

Cheers Union. Alexander packed one hell of a wallop. Remember when he took on the very decent Harry Simon at short notice, even though he lost there were occasions he buzzed Simon, given his quality and the short notice nature of the fight that speaks well of his power.

Cheers Union, Jeff forgot about that one, always guaranteed fireworks with Wayne, he certainly was in the Julian Jackson mould of raw power.
Razor Ruddocks demolition of Mike Dokes was brutal always enjoyed Kennedy McKinneys 12th round turnaround knockout punch over Welcome Ncita in South Africa.
Cheers

Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
any when harrison has been knocked out...
prescotts KO of khan was unexpected, think it actually did khan some good, as it can most fighters- humbles them abit and also brings back the focus. would have thought a rematch might have been made earlier but think khan has moved up a level since and a fight now wouldnt really prove anything, apart from set the record straight for khan

Great right hand from Tyson. He said it was the best he ever threw, knocked Gibbens so clean, Gibbens had no chance.

Agree the Leonard one of Green was a treat Windy, certainly one of my favourites. As an aside Leonard wrote the foreword to Green's biography and he says in that he threw countless punches over his career but never threw a better set than in his fight with Green, you only have to watch it to concur with the opinion.

With you Windy, don't tend to watch a lot of boxing on youtube, but never tire of watching this. Always reminds me of how special Leonard was, because whilst Green is by no means a great he was no mug.
Think with Leonard people often focus on his conduct outside the ring and personality and this often glosses over what a true talent he was. Remeber reading an interview with Green and he says whilst beating Palomina would always been a tough ask, on his best night and had everything gone right he could have pulled it off, but acknowledges that against Leonard he could have had his best night and caught Leonard on his worst ever night and he would not have beaten him
