Your Favourite Knock Out
First topic message reminder :
Hi guys. Just wondering what everyone's favourite KO ever is?
It doesn't have to be the obvious ones, the picture perfect ones, but maybe a KO you love because it involved a favourite fighter of yours getting recognition, or redemption? Or a fighter you didnt like getting his comeuppance?
The one that always springs to my mind is Lewis KO4 Rahman. As a big fan of Lennox I felt he let himself down being underprepared for Rahman first time out, and suffred an unneccessary defeat that would give detractors ammo to question his standing. He let an ordinary fight beat him, which annoyed me because I knew he was so much better. In getting revenge he didn't erase that mistake - it will always stay with him, but he at least avenged it and was able to secure the legacy of beating every man he'd ever fought, which pleased me greatly. And of course, it was an absolute peach of a KO - clinical and utterly devastating:

it was an age ago, and to be honest i'm not too sure who it was... maybe roy jones...?
but he was weaving about, back on the ropes and both hands down, almost behind his back...
...the other guys trying to get near, but missing by miles...
and from behind his body, he swings this suckerpunch, that clean takes out his opponent...
a shot from nowhere...!

David Tua's KO of John Ruiz was a corker despite the pity and initial fear for Ruiz immediately afterwards.

Duran getting his senses seperated by Hearns was pretty lethal, Pacqauio on Hatton as well, Hammeds combo too put Augie Sanchez to bed was also a vicious, vicious moment.

Has to be Audley Harrison against Sprot 2, you could not get a punch that more on the button, before then Rocky Marciano's against Walcott.

Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
I thought Hatton was dead after Manny knocked him (Mind the fight was on at 5 AM and I hadnt slept in 36 hours), It also completed the comedy/horror set for Hatton. An almost comical KO at the hands of Floyd, followed by a mowing.
Also loved Thabiso Mchunu's KO of Danie Venter a year ago, not particularly explosive. But so damn crisp were the punches.
Douglas KO of Tyson is as good as anything you'll see in HW history.
Marciano landing an anvil on Walcott's face was pretty aesthetic

Was looking at this thinking how good/strange it was that this perennial favourite topic had drawn a few old time posters out before seeing windy's post, and the realisation dawned that the thread is 2 years old.
Reminder how many good posters we're missing here these days.
Anyway: Benitez hope, Leonard green and anything from the Julian Jackson collection... Probably Drayton or Norris as I never liked Norris, great talent though he was.

Enzo getting sparked by both Frenkel and Lebedev were beauties!!! Especially the Lebedev one, he pottered towards him like a tranny prostitute approaching Vinny Jones!! BOOOOOM BOOOOM BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
I was at the Frenkel fight reborn. The referee in that should not be allowed anywhere near a professional boxing ring again. There were people at the back of the arena could see Enzo was not fit to continue but the bloke stood in the ring next to him could not work it out. Shameful.

Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
A couple of my old favourites both include Rocky Graziano getting splattered, sadly for him!
First off, the right to the body, left to the point of the chin which Zale took him out with in their final fight.
Then, the way Robinson knocked him out in their 1952 fight. I love everything about that one; the way Robinson switched between defence and attack off the ropes and then the way he set Graziano up for it. Double left hook and then, as Graziano tries to anticipate a third, comes that big right which sent him over and sent his gumshield in to the crowd!
A real piece of genius from the original Sugar Ray, there!
Also, a few others which I don't think have been mentioned yet. Toney against Charles Williams, Mickey Huges against Gary Jacobs, Randall Bailey against Jones last year, Rodrigo Valdez against Bennie Briscoe and Bob Foster against Quarrey.....And Tiger.....And Rondon.....

Garcia v Morales
Martinez v Williams
Marciano v Walcott
Would be my favourites.
Pacman v Hatton was a fantastic punch but I have never enjoyed it because at the time I thought Hatton was in serious trouble.

Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
I have a few fresh in the memory for different reasons:
Derry Matthews in his last fight. Was behind on scorecards getting a bit of a pasting in that particular round and then off the ropes with a glorious left hook putting his opponent to sleep. Quality.
Lewis vs Rahman 2 - Brilliant left hand Right hand by Lennox sparking Hasseem out cold in the middle of the ring. Loved it even more given the pre fight talk before hand, got what was coming.
Pacquiao vs Marquez - Just the nature of everything regarding this. Pacquiao was supposed to be red hot going into it, was a brutal affair, the WHACK. Right hand of justice not only shocked Pacquiao, but the entire boxing world was in complete shock and awe. I remember jumping out my sofa shocked thinking what the hell just happened?! Was utterly the most epic fight i have seen based on that knockout and who was knocked out. Completely unexpected but completely brilliant from the ever brilliant Marquez.

Newbie. Harro'
Pacquiao getting starched by Marquez. Then have the latter be accused of substance abuse. Irony?
Audrey vs Sprott.. Just because you maybe believed he had a heart to backup the mouth.
Pacquiao vs Margrito. Never wanted the latter to get hurt badly, but wanted him to get his arse kicked in and never come back.
Corales vs Castillo. Awesome fight, great knockout.

Two of my favourite Julian Jackson KOs.
Buster Drayton, Drayton takes a fair bit of punishment but keeps coming only to fall like a tree, the second Jackson lands it he motions his right hand telling him where to fall.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SqUFnP7Lg0
Terry Norris, both guys were good punchers but Norris had a pretty suspect chin, the right hand he lands first was a finisher, unluckily for Norris he couldnt fall, after that it was just painful.

Re: Your Favourite Knock Out
Mayweather against Hatton was one I can watch over and over, he broke him down round by round before sending him head first in to the ring post
Marquez knocking out Manny, devastating. The punch just came out of no where and was delivered to perfection.
Matthyse knocking out Peterson. The final punch lifted him off the floor, scary power and something that will trouble most light welters.
