Aus Vs Wales; are you nervous or excited?
First topic message reminder :
Big congratulations to Scotland for an ugly win in ugly weather. I would take that over a loss anyday though. When these guys last played each other before today Scotland also won; which made a possessed Australia go in to their following fixture and thrash my Wales in Cardiff: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/welsh/8381131.stm
Hopefully there is not a repeat this saturday and I can't see a 33-12 scoreline to Aus against this Wales team . But the challenge just got a bit tougher for us. I guess Deans will now be lambasted in the Oz press, what will he do? What changes does he makes to the tactics and starting lineup?
I think there is realistic chance for Wales to win the series. If Australia win with all the factors going against them I would be very impressed with Deans and the team.

You lose the argument because your point is not good one or logic and now you get aggressive to other posters. Is a bit childish and maybe you must take a small break and do some breathing

AWOP, please refrain from calling posters idiots.
Disagree by all means, but your argument loses its credibility when you belittle posters.

You attack my English but yet ...
You try to invent the new ranking and ignore the other poster point that maybe the best team is rank #1 and win the RWC and that some how your own idea about who is best in Europe different to ranking and when is important the win.
Now some people both argue against your point and you get instead of logic more upset and posting personal insult to me. And now again resort to personal attack.
Why not just talk about the very fine win today and keep civil and about rugby?

With Scotland winning today, Wales will be under alot of pressure to secure a win on saturday. Wales being Grand Slam winners should have no problem beeting Australia.
I mean if Scotland can do it, then surely it will be a walk in the park for Wales.
Being Grand Slam winners. Right.

Excitement taking over after reading Warbs' article about facing Pocock. I know it makes no difference really but I always love it when a particular individual battle is under the scope. I hope both manage to make it through the game unscathed and that we're treated to an enthralling duel between two of the world's top opensides
And if not then Tipuric and Hooper are both on standby. Wish the game was in five mins tbh.

Re: Aus Vs Wales; are you nervous or excited?
I predict a 3-0 series romping in Wales' favour. They'll rack up a cricket score in the first test (215-3, new record!) and win the second comfortably by about 60 or so. The Aussies will bounce back and make amends by scoring their first and last try of the series in Sydney by intercepting a poor Hook pass which will also have to be run by the TMO but Wales will still have too much and score a last gasp drop goal to clinch the cleansweep. The next day the ARU will retire the Australian national team and Aussies everywhere will veil their faces on the anniversaries of the tests in remembrance of the Massacre Down Under

I don't really hold out much hope of Wales winning. Australia will be jolted as a result of this loss and will be far more focussed now against Wales.
Gatland also isn't on tour will will be a massive loss to us. I will be looking at the Australian selection with a lot of interest but I expect all the big hitters to come back in.

Well he fell off a ladder, but even then we will not have him back until after the Lions tour, stupid decision by the WRU. There are plenty of coaches in the World why let the Lions disrupt us in this manner?

The WRU want him for the NZ and (Aus or SA?) test in the AI - I think they will get him

Re: Aus Vs Wales; are you nervous or excited?
i am nervous still, ball in hand in dry weather Australia will be a completely different prospect, however my nerves are settled alittle by Edwards confirming in the press today that the speed of the Welsh game needs to go up two gears....
basically we will need a performance on a par with the SA game in the WC, but obviously need to take our chances, after seeing how Scotland dragged the Aussie 8 into an arm wrestle and won I will be expecting the welsh game to attempt the same, especially with the Aussies short in the boiler house..

Re: Aus Vs Wales; are you nervous or excited?
To me the Scotland win simply increases the excitement surrounding the Australia-Wales match. The Wallabies have been bloodied on their home patch. Not the full team mind, nor with much practise, and in a terrible storm. But bloodied they are. The lads in red must sense the possibilities in front. The Wallabies will be bloody minded to prevent it.
This is what is making this series to be fantastic. Can't wait til Saturday!

That doesn't make sense. the fact that they are second in a ranking system which doesn't take into account matches in the future hads no bearing on what will happen in this test series. I appreciate that you're trying to point out that they got there by beating other teams etc but I think Wales wll be looking to go and put a mark down after the world cup.
They should have a dominant pack and i think the backs will behungry as well. And the reason I qualified it by saying if they win the first test is because, whichever way you cook it that loss today will have dented the Aussie confidence and to lose another one so soon after with a stronger team will knock them for six while simultaneously boosting Wales.
I'm not saying Wales will necessarily win the first test but I think that if they do they will win all three tests

Re: Aus Vs Wales; are you nervous or excited?
Do you know what, I'm sick of being the pessimist and now so I can enjoy the series even more, I am confident Wales can win this series. Our scrum is superb and although it wasn't a full strength pack for the Aussie today, if they start going backwards on the first scrum it could well be curtains for them. Not many sides are good enough to win with a poor scrum.
I think Wales are bringing a winning mentality down under along with the GS you have the O's boys coming off the back of a big win in Leinster, and with only Jaime missing through injury we have a pretty much injury free squad. I'm not saying we are going to win 3-0, almost impossible away from home, but i'm confident we can get the 2 wins we need and then hopfully we can progress further, and in the AI change the mentality of the SH sides visiting the MS. The goal now is to beat at least 2/3 at home consistently. We want them coming to the MS thinking 'we haven't won here for a while'. Its tough and only results can implement this new age but a win down under and it will be a giant step in cementing this Welsh side as a top 3/4 nation on a consistent basis.

I will have tremendous respect to the team that goes to Australia and beats those wily crims 3 times in a row. Thats on par with beating the Boks at Ellis Park, Newlands and for good measure Loftus . Will not happen

Re: Aus Vs Wales; are you nervous or excited?
I think we should talk about winning the first test before we begin planning any 3-0 series wins
Let's face it, the Aussies are generally top 3 material, 3N champs and don't come unstuck at home very often at all barring today. The odds are still well against us going home undefeated and they'll remain so until the final day, provided we even make it to that final day without a loss.
Not only that but I expect the Australian kitchen sink from day 1. They're going to put everything into avoiding losing to a second consecutive NH side on home soil.
I have every confidence in this Welsh side but seriously, one step at a time boys! Complacency will only ensure a glum atmosphere around here come Saturday evening. Let's focus on that acid first test and nothing beyond yet
