This competition will be much more watchable when the invetible overhaul of the HEC takes place. At the minute it's a bit easy to see that Perpignan, Bath and Stade will win three of the five groups whilst Gloucester vs LI and Newport vs Wasps will decide the others.

So if London Welsh win their appeal then what happens? After all Falcons are a second seed team, so LW couldn't be put in their place as that would be wrong.
Anyway looking at those groups the Dragons are going to have a fair old fight to get out of hte group, seems like a pretty strong group seeing as it is the Amlin.

How are the Falcons in the Amlin - I thought the team that finished 7th in the AV got an Amlin spot?
Looks to be a decent group for the Dragons, hopefully (if they pull their socks up) they could qualify from that group

I think everybody in tha AV gets a dib at the Amlin. If the LW appeal is succesful I think they will replace us.
They will of course then go on to win the competotion as they will appeal against all of the existing rules that they don't like.

Bayonne might have a go next year, depending on how they feature in the T14 after the first few games. hopefully it will bring some competition to pool 3. for most of the other pools, I can as well put my sportguru predictions already...

Looks a fun group!
London Wasps, sounds like an exciting fixture for the Dragons fans. As well another semi pro Italian club for them to run up a big score against. There's 2 games I will be going to see provided they don't clash with any home Ospreys games!

My thoughts exactly! I shall do my best to follow Glaws to both Bordeaux and Mont-de-Marsan - both rather nice wine regions
Who said the Amlin was rubbish? The rugby maybe, but short of a visit to Treviso I am very happy with those away days

Re: Amlin Cup 2012/2013 draw
I'd imagine London Welsh would just take Newcastle's fixtures, it would be easier than redrawing. Nothing on the ERC site yet, but something official should come out soon with Newcastle waiving their right to appeal.
