Type of People Who Watch TNA vs WWE
I just wondered and wanted to see if anyone has the same perception as myself. Over time I have built up an impression of the type of person who watches TNA and the type of person who watches WWE. (I may be way of the mark here)
I find the type of person who watches TNA are more of a rebel type who goes against the system and the norm, who loves that kind of gritty product and then you have the people who watch WWE who I would class as maybe more of an office type person who plays it safe and prefers something more clean-cut and polished.
Does anyone else find that or is it just me?

That's me.
I'd attribute 50% of my watching WWE over TNA as down to production value.
I like something that looks pretty.
And I'm an officey safe-playing accountant.
I should imagine it is a pretty fair assumption Bret

Re: Type of People Who Watch TNA vs WWE
I watch all of TNA from start to finish and enjoy the storylines and characters much more as well as the non pg style. I follow WWE but normally only watching the videos off WWE.com which show a good half hour plus of the show but watch all of the PPV's.
WWE is the stapple product and very good but I find TNA more interesting and with better characters. For example I prefer Eric Young (at his best not currently) to the best we have seen of Santino.
And I'm an IT bod in an office. Does that make me a wanabee rebel?

I'll take that as a compliment sir.

Being a wanabee rebel is the best kind, it means you can still have all the fun with out being arrested or going to jail.

Sorry to go off topic boys but I can't be bothered to make a thread about it, anyone watching these wrestling specials on Sky Sports. I suppose this is on topic because its watching WWE related. Really good so far, KOTR special today, always like watching these old matches.

Cheers Bret
Well I appreciate good humour, it can't all be about hitting each other with stell chairs etc. That's why I'm a big fan of Regal, some of the segments he's been in have been hilarious. One of the best was during the alliance angle where he and The Rock were talking, and The Rock says 'Can you smell it?' Regal 'Smell what?' Sean Stasiak burst in, both just step aside and he smashes into the metal door and they just carry on talking.
I'm also quite patient so I will stay with a storyline and give its due. Good example is this Big Show angle. At first I was apprehensive to say the least and tbh, I'm still not happy about it being the main event at Now Way Out, but, I'm starting to enjoy the Big Shows streak, it reminds me what he was like when he formed with heyman and took on Brock, that was a great feud because he came across as a genuine threat with the aggressive attitude, which is why he is by far a better heel than he is a face.
I'm still not convinced by TNA, I just can't get into it. I watched bits of the Slammiversery and nothing really happened that got me exited I'm afraid.

I prefer to watch WWE because I have followed it for over a decade now and tbh, really cant be arsed paying attention to 2 feds at once.
And judging from these boards, people who watch TNA, ROH and other indy feds come across as smarks.

Re: Type of People Who Watch TNA vs WWE
I think a lot of people watch TNA for the basic reason it is on freeview where as WWE isn't. TNA is big over here I'd say it even gives WWE a far better run for it's money over here than in the USA. TNA being more popular and WWE less as a percentage. Doesn't mean the product is any good or polished just accessible. Especially when you get names like Hogan and Angle involved.

Re: Type of People Who Watch TNA vs WWE
I have always been a wrestling fan be it wwf, wcw, ecw or tna and try to watch as much of it as possible over the years. About four years ago I got right in to TNA and viewed as a viable alternative to wwe rather than a competitor. I really enjoyed the programming on offer as it presented something different than the main stream bigger company and I watched week in week out right up until about four months ago. It's hard to put my finger on why it is but I just can't get motivated to watch, however I still watch raw every week.
I work as a client manager for an insurance company which is prodimantly an office job, not to sure if that has any relevance to my wrestling preference though

I do enjoy the WWE. Started watching back in 1999 and have never just stoped falling in love with the wwe. Still get the excitment for Raw and the big ppvs.
Im a college student a Brighton season ticket holder and work part time in Sainsburys. Dont know if that helps

Been to your ground a couple of times. Once when you beat us 2-1. Austin and the useless Paynter scored. Forster scored a well good header for us.
Then we beat you 2-1 on the opening day. Fantastic game, Sparrow scored twice for us. Enjoyed winding your fans up about Greer leaving

Re: Type of People Who Watch TNA vs WWE
I am an IT computing student and fell in love with wrestling during mid 1998 watching the attitude era develop. This set the bar in terms of entertainment value with the storylines and superstars such as The Rock, undertaker, kane, and my personal face Stonecold Steve Austin.
However now I find myself enjoying TNA a lot more than WWE, they put on far better matches, storylines and seem to know how to use their talent better than WWE (with the exception of Eric Young).
AJ styles, Austin Aries, Kurt Angle, Kazarian and many others can all put on better matches than most of the WWE roster and again I love it's edginess over the WWE.
Sadly I personally found that the WWE became a lot less entertaining after Eddie died and Benoit went nuts but I have never understood how John Cena became a main event star, for me he has never convinced me and the product has certainly suffered in his dominance.

Re: Type of People Who Watch TNA vs WWE
I'm a fan of wrestling, whether it be a highly polished Wrestlemania event to two guys giving it their all in front of a handful of guys in a leisure centre filmed on a phone.
If two guys give me a story to buy into and follow it up with a performance in the ring that tells me that both of them enjoy their job and make me for a split second believe once more then I don't care which fed they belong to.
Oh and I'm a right-brained, in Belbin tests I came back as a strong Plant and I work in marketing.

I prefer TNA over WWE 9 times out of ten. For me, it has better wrestlers, better story progression (on the whole although the main event mafia era was awful).
WWE is too inconsistent and very stagnant.

I watch primarily WWE programming though do try to watch TNA when I have the time. I kind of wish that I could get into TNA because the story lines at the moment seem very good but as has been mentioned before I like the expensive looking production values of the WWE.

I'm a rebel and a TNA man all the way! (and a design engineer by profession)
That said, I am starting to watch more and more WWF/E videos on YouTube (mainly due to my developing interest in the Undertaker - and all the posters who seem to want an Undertaker vs Sting match at the next Wrestlemania).
I've always had a soft spot for an underdog and TNA is very much the underdog, in terms of ratings, brand power etc. Haven't seen enough wrestling to compare on that score, but I would hazard a guess that TNA's talent is up there with the best (even if the bookings and storylines often leave a lot to be desired).
