He's amending them. Tactics have been plenty of times been amended by people prior to the deadline so there's no issue there.
Some people even post false tactics in case they believe their opponent to be unscrupilous and then change them at the last minute to the real ones.

Really, personally I don't think that should be allowed.

Once you post tactics they should be locked in and that's the end of it, if people don't trust each other, either agree a set time to post or have them all PM'd to a manager.

No you can edit them, as long as they clearly haven't been altered after their opponent has posted theirs to change to one that suddenly then beats the opponents tactics then changes are allowed.

But what it does do is stop people from moving for Marky's players in the belief that they can't play them in that week because Marky has already submitted.

I genuinely did look at following up on my enquiries for Higuain yesterday, but stopped when I saw Marky had posted in the belief that I would have not been able to play him, and would have left myself short.

This is honestly not a reaction to you having him and me playing you, as I am expecting you to beat me anyway and have put this week down as anything is a bonus.

I did post my tactics so that I would keep those players for this week, but when the creator of the league says they can be edited that's fine by me.

The deadline is midnight tonight, not midday.

#justice4afro Laugh

I don't really mind the tactics, but deals by PM is something that should be cut out.

It should all be done in the open on the team pages so everyone can see what is going on - and thus they can make a move if they wish to and see what they need to beat.

You don't have to change it this week (so that it isn't just because I am playing Hero), but I think you need to rethink being able to resubmit for anything other than obvious human error.

Once they are submitted, that should be it.

And I'm not sure the league runner saying it is okay, when he is involved in the deal is very impartial Laugh

Bearing in mind, that out of all of you, I have the most to lose with that edit this week

You could, but it would lead to accusations of having help from others and tarnishing results. It would also have to be done before your opponent posts theirs, otherwise it looks like cheating.

I don't see issue with people editting their tactics as long as it's obviously not done with due to amending them based on what the opponent has posted.

We shouldn't penalise those that post early else it then results in everyone posting at the last minute. Marky could have kept it in Word and waited and it wouldnt make any difference.

I've edited my tactics (and put them in a spoiler for good measure) and it's all done before Twist has posted his.

Matter closed.

As for deals via PM or by any other means (such as chatbox), I ask what the problem is?

Why does it matter if Hero and I agree a deal by PM, or if Russell_Elmo and I agree a deal face to face as we know each other, if someone else wants my player they would make me an offer anyway.

It's not penalising anyone. If you think you that you might do a deal, don't submit tactics. That is your choice. This suggests that those who submit at 11.59 and keep them on Word all day are in the wrong.

Twist is playing Mark, so technically the only impartial person is Sod Laugh

I think it's ethically shady but it isn't actually against the rules, so I suppose it is down to the two parties consciences as to what they do. I do know in the past I have done deals with Marky where he has already posted tactics and we've waited till after they were played to do deals - particularly the De Jong deal as far as I remember.

It probably means we now have the "Higuain rule" where tactics are done when posted and deals must wait until after the game to complete.

Hero, by amending tactics that's setting a precedent. You need to make it black and white, in that there's shades of grey.

For example, I've edited my tactics just now because I didn't realise that my opponent doesn't have Higuain anymore. Is that cheating? I would say so, but you need to be clear.

Personally, I think once they're up, that's it.

I would see it happen that if it was made that once tactics were handed in that was it then people would hold fire until as late as possible and often it would then result in more tactics not being handed in on time.

Make a new rule going forward then. But while there is no rule, i've done nothing wrong.

Matter closed.

There is some strong feeling on this, so I don't think it can just be closed like that.. Any changing of tactics after they have been submitted opens the door to further cheating. Perhaps a vote next week to see.

Marky wrote:As for deals via PM or by any other means (such as chatbox), I ask what the problem is?

Why does it matter if Hero and I agree a deal by PM, or if Russell_Elmo and I agree a deal face to face as we know each other, if someone else wants my player they would make me an offer anyway.

Because managers don't get to see that a player could be available and that they could have made an offer until it is too late. The rule on every other league I have been in is that all negotiations must be fully visible to all other managers.

Afro, if someone makes me a private offer for a NFS player and I want to take it, why should I then tout the player across the board?

Every week I have handed in my tactics and never have made changes to them apart from spelling errors. If you can't put tactics up on time that's a different thing surely?

The key difference is that mine were edited before Twist posted his. If they were edited afterwards (and you'd be able to tell as the time is on them unless you're an Admin) then it can be suggested as cheating. If not, it can't.
