Hurling Sunday 17.06.12
Galway 5.23 Offaly 3.15. Galway in the Leinster final.
Poor Offaly, 3.15 would win most games.
High scoring and it wasn't even a good game.

Ulster Senior Hurling Championship - Armagh -v- Derry - Emm, yes and moving on;
Munster Senior Hurling Championship semi-final
Clare -v- Waterford - Papers seem to be backing Clare but I fancy Waterford.

4 point to 1 in favour of Clare. Conor McGrath is a classy young player.
Good to see Eoin Kelly back in the fold.

When will the GAA deal with the foul mouthed runt of a man called Davy Fitz??
Every game he has a foul mouthed fight with one or all of match officials/opposing players & mamagement/opposition supporters yet no action is ever taken.............
I think we saw how popular he was in Waaahherford yesterday!!

Derry won that one 4-14 to 1-17. A lad from our club got a score and another one came on as sub. Two more as subs.
The wee poisoned dwarf knows what he is doing. imo. That makes him worse.
Calculated....

Has it made any progress in schools??
Where does Hurling come in the pecking order in Ulster ?...................surely a distant 4th after Soccer, rugby & Gaelic football?? There is probably more hockey there than hurling??RebelBhoy wrote:blueandgold wrote:Ulster Senior Hurling Championship - Armagh -v- Derry - Emm, yes and moving on;

Conal Keaney substituted. Hope he's OK. After 16 minutes it's still three all.
And as I typed that, Kilkenny get a goal.

Ouchie.
Gary Maguire made 3 great saves too and he still ends up on the end of a hosing.
On the hockey thing, some lads at our club play hurling during the winter to keep the stick-work sharp.

It must be disheartening for Loais to have regressed so much...............they nearly beat Limerick in 2008......................
I find Cork Tipp hard to call....................and from Cork's perspective they have been very inconsistent in the last few years (bad management being partly to blame).................JBM being the answer im not so sure..............there was as many bad times as good times in his 5 years in the 1990's.............1 AI in 5 was probably about average in Cork terms in that period.............................
I have a feeling for them to sneak past Tipp, but i think Waterford will win the final.................

That was a great game. I think it will stand to our players through the course of time.
Maher was unbelievable today.

Rebel - shame Cork didn't make it, I was hoping they would. It sounded like a very exciting game. Looking forward to seeing the highlights on TSG. Also disappointed for Monaghan in the football. They just missed out by one little point despite leading at half time. Sums up my whole sporting weekend really!

Re: Hurling Sunday 17.06.12
The propensity for GAA players to committ idiotic fouls always astounds me. O'Brien gave away 2 dumb frees and got carded (I thought it was deserved but no need for them). Cork, our tactics in the last ten were a bit strange I thought. Why not run at the defence when it was clear that we were not winning ball through the air?
Some positives, our defence put them under some good pressure and it was a decent performance by them. When was the last time Tipp only managed a solitary goal oother than last year's semi and final? I think our midfield did alright, Lorcán in partiuclar had a very good game. We didn't get a lot from our half forwards but Pebbles, Horgan and Coughlan did a decent job. A lot of positives from the game and as I said earlier on in the year, anything after a QF is just gravy.
Also great day down the Pairc. Great crowd, fierce banter and nice weather.

Nice draw for Cork at home to Offaly.
The Clare Dublin game looks intruiging.........surley Dublin will offer more that last Saturday.
On the other side, looks like Limerick & Wexford will get through.
On yesterday, didn't think Cork deserved to lose but agree that too much high ball went in.......O'Sullivan really went out of the game...............
I think Sean Og looking at that yesterday will realise his time is up...............

Sorry Cari, Athletic Grounds yesterday worth double admission. Inept first half, monaghan going great guns and a referee display of total incompetence. Second half guts, heart and passion and the strangest decision for the monaghan goal. Thats my year sorted I dont think I am fit for another.
