Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
Very good game, two very good teams and well done SA, deserved winners.
I've no real opinion on the following comment, but I think that was the first time I've ever seen a winning rugby captain give thanks "to god" during an interview. Anyway, no harm in that, it just struck me as unusual but that's probably just me.
Great entertainment and hopefully a good prelude to some great rugby tomorrow.

Well done, South Africa. Great match.
It's been a very good tournament, with a lot of very promising players to watch out for in the next few seasons.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
Well done SA. The power game came through in the end. For NZ teams to combat this game when its played well the skill levels have to be that much higher. Poor decision making in the last 20 and mistakes were forced by the boks too easily where we lacked the pace and skill of previous sides to counter this.
The second bok try was fantastic and the turning of the match mentally. It was up hill from that moment.
Did think the ref was a bit whistle happy and if either of those offences were red cards then Ive seen worse.
All up. Close but best team on the day won it. Pressures now off NZ next year a little and a good day for the youth of SA rugby.
Well done baby boks! hard luck baby blacks!
Good match to start the weekend. Fired up now!

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
So Italy are relegated from the tournament then.
Seems a pity, since they hosted the last JWC.

22-17. Nz took a penalty to get within 7 five to go. Then went lame again. Deserved winners.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
Plenty of positives for NZ though, they lacked the physicality to match the Baby Boks today but their fly-half, full back and left wing look seriously good prospects.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
I think for all the countries that took part there are positives, I heard the commentators say that already 150 of the players of the previous 4 years have played international rugby for their countries, that's brilliant for the development of international quality players.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
Yeah I think so Biltong, you must be a happy camper so well done
Your 12 is some player, was awesome today.
From an Irish perspective I'm delighted. Disappointing obviously to lose to England in the groups but to beat SA, England, Italy and France is a great achievement for our lads. Was very impressed with our physicality and we've a few good prospects there.
Really enjoyed what I saw of this tournament and it was a superb final.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
Thanks rodders, I have to admit I didn't think we will pull it through even in those last few minutes, I could almost sense deja vu when the all blacks got their last penalty and brought the score within 6, and thought back to 2010 when the boks lost in the last minute to the all Blacks, I really need to work on my negativity when it comes to the boks.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
It was an inspired effort from your lads today, they overwhelmed NZ at times and their physicality and commitment in defence was ferocious...NZ could have won and looked classy when they did get ball but the best team won today for sure in my opinion.
Brilliant final and both teams should take a bow

And amazingly we outscored them in a final, who would have thought?

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
The mauling today from SA was outstanding, really outstanding.
I'd like to see Ireland use more mauls tomorrow. It was always such a strength of ours but we don't use it enough as an attacking weapon these days.

Does the ginger lad play for the stormers? Were there many with s15 contracts?

EBOP, KItshoff plays for the stormers, I think Paul Jordaan has a contract but not sure with who.

Re: JWC: match talk and score updates.
Sweet, thanks biltong. He's a big boy and does the damage at s15 when I've seen him, very strong and pretty snappy for a big fulla. And dig that ginger hair
Yeah I thought that rolling maul was devastating, got a few pens from them to. Can see why the ABs struggle with them when you see age grade being ineffective at stopping them to, probably don't do the drills much. But then again, hard to stop a mass like that.
Anyways, well deserved win and bodes well for both SA/NZ.

Disppointing tournament for England, but then we lost to SA and Ireland and finished 7th and NZ lost to Wales amd SA and finished 2nd so there are certainly fine margins at play.

From despair to success for SA.
That a team who looked so clueless in their first game could go on to win is impressive.
