A plea to all you moderators re the Trolling on the rugby forum
First topic message reminder :
There has been a problem with it on here since the sites inception, at the starts the mods were receptive to suggestions on how to avoid the inevitable idiots that only join forums to annoy others. Some tips were taking, the mods should be commended for their approach to give anyone with a previous reputation a fair chance to prove themselves capable of behaving in an adult manner.
Now we are getting to a point where any article on welsh rugby attracts the same idiots posting with the sole intent of rubbishing the thread and turning it into a pathetic bunfight.
I know I am not alone in being sick to death of it, it is the same idiots all the time and they are always hell bent on their pathetic behaviour.

Although I disagree with you, I take your concerns and understand what you mean.
The prob is you, and lets be honest, most of us are as guilty as each other as having a bit of a wind up every now and then!
I think it was you arguing about the Saffacens team recently, Sarries fans are bound to get techy about that, then when the same is applied to welsh threads you throw your toys clean out of the pram!
There are a lot of sensitive souls on here though...
Well put. Amazing how one of the worst for wum post and anti England on the old 606 can start a thead like this? We all love some banter but when you can't have your own way then...

The key to killing off WUMs isn't complaining and McCarthy style "He's a WUM, ban him!" accusations when somebody strongly disagrees with your POV. It's ignoring them yourself.
I sometimes find it hard to come to terms with how gullible some posters come across as. One would have thought that the dominant majority of the boards would be mature enough to not pay attention or lend justification to posts which they themselves claim to be for the sole purpose of annoying people.
Wherever I see wummery at work I also notice many posters stupid enough to respond to it, pouring the petrol on and encouraging the WUMs to stay on and continue doing what they do as it is clear that it's that easy to breach people's patience.
Take away the attention, the lifeforce of all WUMs, and their presence will eventually wilt away. Being macho and talking back to them is exactly what they want you to do, you really should acknowledge that they are not worth taking this seriously.
Sorry maesteg but the mods aren't babysitters, everybody here is responsible and able to do their bit in making this forum a nice place to debate. And right now that bit includes having the maturity and restraint to not fuel wumming by responding to it with threads like this.

Re: A plea to all you moderators re the Trolling on the rugby forum
I fully understand points raised. Some may see comments out of line when others may not, but that is besides the point in question.
My point is that there are some posters on here that only use this site to bait and antagonise others...!
There posts are un wanted, and, by ninety nine percent, are ignored. But too frequently they ruin the thread that many are enjoying reading the opinions of others.
And unfortunately there is an element of spite in it because those posters do not do the same to the Irish, who are lucky enough to have fantastic debates without pointless defamation...!
Now it would be prudent for the house rules to encapsulate those who are purposefully baiting, or worse stalking posters and baiting them and be stringent in their punishment.
There is a poster on this thread who's first three days of posts were solely in repost to my own, didn't post a thing other than stalking my own posts, accusing me of being banned or suspended, all untrue, and trying to contradict anything I posted.
How can that behaviour be acceptable.

So as other people said stop making the site all about the troll and keep posting with your rugby brain maes!

Re: A plea to all you moderators re the Trolling on the rugby forum
If you could not be you, which poster would you like to be ?
I think I would aspire to Hersh's dry wit, and Biltong's deceny & diplomacy.
I also at times was impressed by Grey Ghost's sheer acidity (I just can't / won't do that on here), even though the acid was mostly aimed at English rugby/men. Henson gets some stick, but I would not mind having a lot of his skills and a lot less of his personality.

I would be red_stag because he acutally know all the laws and says only useful things, rather than most posters who just like to pretend they knowing and argue

Re: A plea to all you moderators re the Trolling on the rugby forum
Why are artciles removed arbitrarily by mods because they point out that Hesrh is a WUM......this is the worst type of censorship and frankly alarming. Is this site run to protect the likes of Hersh who constantly try and bait certain fans? And before I am chastised for posting this here by a MOD team that clearly has its own agenda, my article was removed without any PM from the MODS hence the need to register my concern in public.

I'm still at work (well, for another few minutes anyway ), and got asked a question by a colleague before I could hit "send" on the PM to you. But your thread was removed for being completely unrelated to rugby, and therefore off-topic, and likely to do nothing more than create a rancourous slanging match.
If you have concerns, raise them with the mod/admin team directly instead of posting a childish attack.

Dont worry Mowgli youve only been posting here a few weeks. Im sure youll get used to him soon enough like the rest of us and cope.
The forum isnt here for personal attacks on people and flame wars. Maybe youd get less articles deleted/accounts banned if you stopped that.
If you dont like him, theres an ignore feature.
Just a thought.

How so childish? I object to that personal abuse from a MOD how can you justify that? isn't that the best example of a childish attack?
You have the time to remove a post without PM to me.

Re: A plea to all you moderators re the Trolling on the rugby forum
I'd never heard the term trolling before seeing this thread, so I looked it up to see what it means.
All I can say is that those doing the trolling and those crying into their keyboards over it need to either step away from the computer and take a break or alternatively just grow the Flip up.
