Re: Player Draft
I'm looking at 3 as well. I reckon I know who driver will go for, and it's not someone I need or want, so it's then down to the others.

Re: Player Draft
I actually reckon he will have a good season for London Welsh. If I didn't already have Nonu, Davies, Lambie and Farrell covering 12 I might be tempted to take a punt on him myself.

Re: Player Draft
Ben Botica is a good player - could be very good for Quins this year.
Apparently Henson has been picked to play at no10 this year - could be interesting. Welsh have signed about 15 players so far, haven't really heard of any though!
Probably about 4-5 players that are definitely very good in there, sorry Pete I should probably have mentioned the Russian hooker at Wasps and I think Chris Cussiter was released a while back too?

They want to play him at 10. Last thing I need with Evans, Jantjies, Beauxis and Geraghty.

If you got him Nick I am pretty sure he would have retired by X-Mas and signed up for another reality tv show!

Re: Player Draft
Could be a brilliant signing or could go jubblies up, but as a freebie has to be worth the gamble I reckon.

Re: Player Draft
Seen him a fair bit in CC, he's mainly an OS but seen him at BS and I think 8.
Can't see Saull getting much game time when he settles and they have Burger too. Serious options for Sarries on the flanks.

What I have read wells is dogged BS. Saull will either kick on and be top 7 or disappear as a bum

Re: Player Draft
Saull will never be a top 7, just lacks physicality.
No idea how Wells will go but looked pretty good in CC. Don't think the AP is a massive step up in quality.
Most are punts end of the day, the Gloucester lad was my 2nd pick but again no idea how he'll go.

Re: Player Draft
Do you mean Edmonds or islander backrow ???
I still think saull will be England 7 but if does not progress this year never will.
He is a link 7 and good thief at breakdown.
Never got steffan armitage as a 7he got murdered every time vs qera or
Other top 7s.
However since moving to France he has been excellent and more roUnded and deserves England chance

Re: Player Draft
Be surprised if Saull ever gets cap. I'd def keep Qera over him but EQ is difficult.

Re: Player Draft
not sure steffon will ever get an england chance again.
coaching in france has improved him. same will happen with delon but doubt he will get an england chance again, but he has the ability to be better than foden.

Re: Player Draft
I'v thought it at times as well Nick. Mike Brown is the way forward for me at 15 with Foden and Ashton on the wings.

Re: Player Draft
The thing which stumps me is that one week he can be brilliant and next he's pretty average. If Foden played to his best every week i'd take him but if not i'd go Brown.
RWC Armitage would have played 15 for me.

Re: Player Draft
Brown will be found out at international level before long I suspect.
Foden miles clear for me due to his consistency. Been a top level 15 for 2 or 3 years. Brown has had a good season and Armitage has been very hit and miss. When planning for the long term we need to look at the consistency of Foden's performance's tending to always be 7+ out of 10.

Re: Player Draft
Would have Foden miles and miles and miles and miles and miles ahead of any other English 15 - reckon he's the best tackling fb around, hardly ever misses a tackle.
If you watch him for Saints he is at the centre of most attacks, as they actually have ambition to use their fb as an attacking player and Pisi is great at putting him into space - England don't and I get the impression that Lancaster wants a kicking 15 hence why he played Foden on the wing.
Hope he doesnt do that as Foden is absolutely wasted on the wing and I can't ever see Brown or Goode being top class players.

Chris - That's a full backs job though? so surely you can't use that as his defining characteristic????

Re: Player Draft
I love Foden, but he's not miles better than Brown by a long shot.
For what's it worth I think Foden is a slightly better player but he needs to up his game to keep his spot. Goode showed against SA we have plenty of depth and Bendy has upped his game massively over the last season too.

Re: Player Draft
Foden garbage kicking game. Great player but if both on form delon for me.
However delon a mercurial type of player with a terrible attitude so foden the way ahead.
Brown is a great club player and no more end of!!
My posts look like boycott wrote them. Note to self be less opinionated !

Re: Player Draft
If all in top form, then Delon, Foden, Brown in that order.

Re: Player Draft
Steve, there may be some subconscious bias, but I do genuinely believe that when at the top of his game Delon's all round game is better than either Foden or Brown.

Re: Player Draft
irish bias?! hes a toulon player now
for me when on form, delon is better under the high ball, and a better runner and counter attacker. foden has a better defence, temperament and in the last year has been more consistent.

I can't see it myself. Granted you see more of him but to me Foden the stronger in attack, Delon Kicking and Foden in defence marginally.

Sorry Nick but Foden streets ahead on the counter attack for me. High ball pretty even.
Armitage only has kicking advantage for me.

Re: Player Draft
Armitage never seems to let any one down when he's in a England shirt either. Was fantastic against Wales at Twickenham last year and was pretty good in world cup just a daft nice try off the pitch.

Re: Player Draft
For me Foden's game has stalled a bit over the past year. Be interesting to see how he kicks on again now, as he knows he faces real challenges from Brown and Goode for the England jersey.
