Hi all
Due to upcoming holidays (and worried about missing the boat), I wonder if its worth starting a thread to express interest in participating in this coming season's 606v2 Fantasy Football League. (Mods - feel free to move, delete or merge this thread).

I'm very interested in participating provided there is room here!
I'm a bit of a fantasy league novice, but I'm sure I can pick it up. If not, at least everyone gets at least one win on their record...

If you reactivate both East & West leagues ,you can then hand over the league managers role to some one elsePr4wn wrote:I'm in but won't have the time to run it I'm afraid...
Its in the managers settings
That way we won't have to set up new leagues from scratch
Should be room for a few new players as a few dropped out

I think I once suggested that I would be happy to take over the West given that I ran the forum side of the league last year
Obviously therefore i am interested and I was the heroic San Francisco Trams last time out

Probably need to put a bit more effort into the forum though
Lets get the old league up and running then we can sort out who wants to stay in , looks like most want to play again except for the 2 or 3 who didn't finish the season

Easy to explain. On NFL.com they have a great fantasy football game in which this forum had two leagues last year of 14 teams each.
It basically works in the style of the real NFL draft, so all the teams take it in turns to pick players for there teams with each individual NFL player only being on one team. You usually pick a team of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, a team defence (i.e. you pick the Pittsburg Steelers say) and a "flex" player which can be anything RB or WR (and probably TEs will be allowed this year). In addition you have 6 players on the bench which you use to fill in bye weeks for your other players etc.
Points come from all the real NFL games based on what your player does and each week you directly play against one other player in your league. Whoever gets the most points out of all there players over one weekend gets a win as per a normal NFL division. Last couple of weeks of the NFL regular season form the fantasy playoffs.
You change players mid season either by trade with another owner or by dropping someone into the list of spare players and taking someone else as a replacement. Generally the latter isn't that successful since everyone keeps the good players on there teams, but sometimes you get lucky in picking up players who come into teams to replace injured players (e.g. last year I got DeMarco Murray who turned into Dallas' starter by year end) or because peoples teams get full of players who are all injured or whose real teams are on bye weeks and they have to sacrifice players to put up a starting line up.
Check out last years thread:
https://www.606v2.com/t13037-606v2-west-nflcom-fantasy-football-homepage
there are links in there to the old league so you can see the team and league structure of everyone

Just have to wait until it gets reactivated and sort out who will be LM. Then see where the available spots are, then you'll get an invite to one of them.

Re: 606v2 Fantasy League 2012 Thread
Seeing as crazy_dave missed out a rather important part (scoring!) I will just add to his post.
Each week fixtures are lined up, and you have another team as your direct opponent for that week, just like the real NFL. Our scoring system is fairly standard, but just to make it clear:
Passing
1 point for every 25 yards passing
4 points for a touchdown pass (I think)
Rushing
1 point for every 10 yards rushing
6 points for a touchdown
Receiving
1 point for every 10 yards receiving
6 points for a touchdown
Kickers
1 point for an extra point conversion
3 points for field goals
5 points for a field goal over 50 yards
Turnovers give you negative points
Defence - Loads of different ways to score, keeping an opponent under a certain amount of points, causing turnovers. sacks etc
NFL.com uses decimal scoring, so if Adrian Peterson runs for 84 yards, he will get 8.4 points
The totals are added up for your starting line up and your opponent's, and whoever has the highest gets the win for that week. We played a 13 week regular season, and 3 weeks for playoffs (week 17 is ignored because teams usually rest their starters)

I was in the East league last year as Rexy's Redskins.... think I may need to change that name for this year. Now, if only there was a high profile player who played for the Redskins and who's name began with "R"......

I approximated that entire post into "Points come from all the real NFL games based on what your player does and each week"... I didn't feel the need to be precise, which is odd for me!

Not a lot really!
Just gives you the power to set the draft time, draft order, rules, remove team owners etc.
As the leagues and there rules are already set up, it just means a bit of tinkering might be required, however any rules will be the same for both leagues

Well, I reckon I'd be happy enough to manage the East league if that helps move things along. Probably the best way for me to make sure I can get the draft time I want
