Due to upcoming holidays (and worried about missing the boat), I wonder if its worth starting a thread to express interest in participating in this coming season's 606v2 Fantasy Football League. (Mods - feel free to move, delete or merge this thread).

I imagine (pending decision) that the draft will be late August, around 3rd Week of preseason.

I will wait until the end of the Olympics and then I was planning on removing teams from the league I know run and replacing them with people from the list of interested people.

Then again, we may be making a third league and going down to 12 per league... I prefer this option

I thought it would probably be best kept on NFL.COM as we all have an account with them

Ah I didn't realise you could do keeper leagues on NFL.com, but just had a look and it appears you can. That's fine with me then, finalise the list of players and then you can set that up whenever you are ready

Sorry lads, been away for a few days and had some laptop issues but we're all sorted out now. I see I have joint control of the East league - I hope I don't go power crazy!!!!

Anyway, where are we at with the fantasy stuff? I was gonna do a draft order so all those that want to get busy doing mock drafts could get started. Will need to wait though until we redistribute teams into the 3 leagues of 12 format. What's our deadline on that?

Looking at the list crazy_dave put together, I make that we have 29 people that want to play, obviously if we are doing 3 leagues of 12 then we have to have 36, unless people are going to have 2 teams (I don't mind!).

We also need to find someone to run the 3rd league, and set a date for the drafts. Once we have the full list of players for each leagues, the league managers can sort out the draft order themselves (we trust you!) and everyone can get on with mock drafts etc.

I prefer to have the draft as late as possible, ideally after the last set of preseason games, the last of those is on 30th August, so could have the drafts on 2nd September or 26th August if you guys think that 2nd September is leaving it too late.

1st game of the season is on 5th September so has to be before that obviously!

I will liaise with Number25 via PM about the extras who may need adding (both our leagues will be slightly under 12 teams once the current people who have not expressed an interest are removed) and who are going into which league.
I would prefer if we sent PMs with passwords to the people on the "extras" list such that no other people can jump ahead of those that have expressed an interest.

We do still need a third league manager. I can do it if required

I vote 2nd of September for the drafts in all leagues - simultaneously if possible?

Also, Flex position will be changed to include TE's (I presume its possible, I haven't looked)... think we agreed on this before?

I don't mind running the third league if no one else wants to, but would still want to keep my team in 606v2 West.

Might be a bit of a challenge drafting in two leagues at once if people have teams in 2 leagues? Maybe have one starting a little while afterwards?

2nd September gets my vote. Think it was 6pm last year.

IIRC you can set up a draft board prior to the acutal draft, so if you can't make it live then you still get preference in who ends up on your team.

Good job, setting up the Keeper League FP, a few of my leagues fell apart last year so I'm looking forward to having another that I know will go the distance.

All sounds like a plan to me. As it stands, we'll need a few bods to take a second team in the new 3rd league if we move to the 3 leagues of 12. Should probably start keeping a tally of those that are happy to do that. I'm still OK with having a 2nd team although it should make for a frantic draft if they're all happening simultaneously!!!

I don't mind having a second team. I think we have 28 people from the list above (29 with 2x Pr4wn teams) I think so it maybe worth looking at keeping the 2 leagues unless other come in?

Updated Post...

There has been very little activity (in terms of new requests) in a little while. As mikeygnfl points out there are 28 teams if we drop one of pr4wns two teams... thus I think we should just get on with replacing the current gaps with the extras list and call it done on 2x14 teams.
I would drop Pr4wn from the East league, leaving him in the west with me... that way we are adding 4 teams in each league.

If we suddenly get a mass of new people wanting to join or the old guys come back then we can think about a 606v2Central at the last minute.
I've proposed a split between the east and west in the below...
I need Number25 to agree to that as he is the other league manager. Would be planning to get the league invites sent off in PM 2moro night unless anyone has a massive complaint with my plan

I'm happy with Crazy Dave's plan. Three leagues of 12 would have been ideal but would really have needed all those that took part last year to be involved again. We need to be fair though to all those that have said they want to be involved this year and I think we've probably given last year's guys long enough now to say they're up for it again this year. If they turn up again nearer the season then a 3rd league can be looked at then. 14 team leagues worked really well last year anyway. What it does do is put a lot more emphasis on the draft cos it's slim pickings in FA after that. That's no bad thing though cos the draft is one of the most fun bits.Having said that, wheeling and dealing and taking a chance on a guy off waivers is fun too and it gives you the chance to feel all smug when you manage to grab a guy like Victor Cruz like I did last year!!!!

I'll attempt to make the changes to the East league tonight and send PM'd to sodhat, The BrahmaBull, Dominica Dicoco and Take it to the house.

It would be better and easier to follow if people stayed the same but if you do want to change we can't stop you!

"He" is Ochocinco, Child Please was his catchphrase when Hard Knocks featured the Bengals a few years ago. I tend to name my Fantasy teams after NFL quotes.

Yeah Olly, if it's 4pm eastern time that's around 9.30pm here. You can set up your rankings if you aren't going to make it, so the auto draft picks in order of your preferences. It's hard to get a decent team from auto draft though

Re the date - I can be flexible on date. Timewise though, I'd prefer from 8.30 onwards - any time before that and I might be caught up with the kid's bedtime duties!! If the majority prefer to do something different then I'll just set my draft board, let it autopick for me and play the hand I'm dealt!

BTW on the name change thing - I'll be changing my team's name. My homage to the Redskins QB debacle last season just doesn't seem to fit this season.
