That sounds good then!!! Attacking wise we don't need to change much, we score goals. If Hughton can sort out the defence that would be great to see some clean sheets!!

Tooze you up for a deal?

I want to see another defender come in, ideally another CB and a back up LB.

I wouldn't mind seeing us bring in a loanee at CB. Just a youngster. And at LB same thing really. Glad to have Tierney back, he is a good player.

I am willing to use his in order to improve across the rest of the team, but would be looking for a 3 for 1 deal at least

He is 22 on 8th August.

We won't be starting the new season by then, so I am assuming that for next seasons cup, he will not qualify as U21 (given that you said it was 21 or under at the start of the season)

I'll be honest, it was a bit funny to see only say he wasn't interested in Jovetic, but was focusing on LW and/or striker instead.

Unless there is another Jovetic?

I would have bitten your hands off for Jovetic Twist.

Until I noticed Vucinic was somehow still available in TPs. Now I have Jovetic's equal, for cheaper and for cash.

And he is right footed, which is something I was after given I have plenty of left footed wide players.

True, but you must ask yourself why wasn't he snapped up? Is he not rated? I knew he was there, but I had good enough players in that position and IMO he would be a bit of a risk.

Wish someone would go for Jovetic lol. I am happy to keep him, but I really thought I could beef up my squad with selling him. Like you were trying to do with Xavi

That's what I did when I sold Bale. And I am a little reluctant to give it all up for one player if you know what I mean

I did ask myself why he wasn't snapped up. I'd just gone past him in the past as I assumed he would be taken, but for some reason decided to check this time.

I don't see why Vucinic wouldn't be rated any differently than Jovetic. He was a regular starter for Juve, the Italian champions, scoring his fair share of goals as well.

The only reason Vucinic would be a risk and Jovetic not would be your own highlighting of the player.

Someone should want Jovetic though. He is a class player (just like Vucinic!!!).

Obviously not......only very wishy washy offers so far. Nothing concrete. Rather like the real life transfer dealings of the player Laugh

I think £30 million + Skrtel from me will tempt him. That is £45 million pretty much in terms of player added onto the cash.

I agree. And to be honest I think that is a dumb deal. You are gaining one very good defender for a good defender. But you are losing £30m as well, that needs to be used in other areas of your team.

IMO, keep the cash and use Skrtel to get players in your problem positions. Not another defender.

But if I got Silva (and not for Vidic) I'd have the following 4 centre backs...

Vidic
Chiellini
Hummels
Silva

Not that it'd be greedy or anything.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2179693/Gaston-Ramirez-talks-Premier-League-club.html

Could finally get the respect he deserves. I remember when I had him in the Furious League for Malaga, and he was quality then but unknown. I can see him playing on the left in front of Downing to be honest.

I think £20m is small change for his quality, especially when Dempsey would have cost roughly the same, and Gaston is a good deal younger.

Plus, £12m TP was peanuts as I expect him to be a first teamer for me in Season 3.

And I've got a feeling I might have been the one who sold him to you at Malaga.

I have bought him from TPs in most of the leagues I have been in.

You loaned him to TheCelticGarbutt when he was Malaga manager for £1.5m

Then I brought him off you for keeps for Serdar Tasci + Ramirez = Leonardo Bonucci Laugh

I was just starting out at that point

Thats right. In those days Ramirez was a real unknown on these leagues, and Tasci even less so Ok! I think Bonucci was one of the most sought after defenders at that point.

Although I think I sold him to CF for £22m
