Phillips Idowu 'incredibly disappointed' at BOA
"Phillips Idowu is "incredibly disappointed" after the British Olympic Association made public a request to see his medical records.
The 33-year-old triple jumper did not travel to the Team GB training camp in Portugal citing an injury concern.
BOA chief medical officer Dr Ian McCurdie has asked for medical records.
"He's incredibly disappointed and surprised as to why the BOA has chosen to do this," Idowu's agent Jonathan Marks said.
"We are more than happy to send the BOA the medical records, Marks said.
"Our office has even had a call from a member of the BOA medical team who has also expressed surprise at the organisation's decision to go public with the request.
Idowu's coach Aston Moore said on Monday that the athlete had decided to stay in London for treatment from a private physiotherapist rather than travel to Portugal.

I know he has had a spat with Charles van Commenee in the past but this seems to be something separate (BOA rather than UKA).

What does it matter if its made public. If he's injured its not going to hinder his recovery. What a diva.

Re: Phillips Idowu 'incredibly disappointed' at BOA
Van Commenee says he is "frustrated" with the breakdown of communication with Idowu, who failed to travel with the rest of the team to their training camp in Portugal. Van Commenee says his coach is in portugal and the best medical team is in Portugal so wonders what Idowu is doing - whatever he is doing hopefully it is all above board: no hidden explosive bolts in his trainers etc.

Re: Phillips Idowu 'incredibly disappointed' at BOA
"Phillips Idowu's chances of winning an Olympic medal have been compromised by his Games preparation, GB athletics chief Charles van Commenee believes.
Van Commenee revealed that triple jumper Idowu has not seen or spoken to his coach Aston Moore for a fortnight.
...
"UK Athletics has supported Phillips Idowu for about 12 years. Financially, a big part for that 12 years in terms of providing training and accommodation, camps, medical support, psychological support, biomechanical support. We have paid the salary of his coach - our coach.
"I'm perplexed really that in the last few weeks before the Games he turns his back on us."

I we can compare Idohu's position to Kim Collins position - who carried his national flag at the opening ceremony:
"Olympics athletics: Kim Collins 'dropped for visiting wife'"

Agreed!
I wonder if there's some guy heading their Olympic team, who's got a personality clash with Collins [ i.e. can't handle Collins stature, fame and general likeability?! ]...
