What about Worcester Warriors?
Worcester Warriors this old and proud club with it's own stadium has been unfortunately swept under the carpet as noiser clubs have been stealing the limelight.Worcester's efforts to retain their status in the Aviva Premiership were a resounding success as Newcastle were relegated. They had noticeable victories like Saints,Gloucester,Saracens and Bath in their AP campaign.
Most clubs have a spokesperson - some have more than one. I think Worcester deserve to be the topic of conversation for once.
How do you think Worcester will do next season?

It's likely this thread will fizzle out.
Poor Worcester. So unloved.

Munkian I am not sure what's worse. To be hated or not to be on the radar at all. Worcester are obviously the latter.
At least with being hated people care enough about you to have an opinion.

I can't remember the last time the Dragons played Woucester so I don't really have much exposure to them.
Make a statement on the pitch and get tongues wagging

I hope Worcester do well, they have a sound infrastructure, a beautiful stadium, a good support base... basically everything that London Welsh isn't.
A strong English club game means a stronger European club game so i keep a keen eye on Worcester.

The tend to have a decent pack but relatively poor backs. They seem to struggle to score other than from the boot. Losing Benjamin isn't going to help. They've got some good players coming through and a good academy that often get's robbed by others.

Re: What about Worcester Warriors?
Funnily enough I was only thinking last night at the 7s watching wuss v Chiefs. Both have bucked the trend and joined the top echelons and are very similar in so many ways. Yet Chiefs are everyone's 2nd team, but everyone is apathetic to Wuss. You can't hate them, but you can't really like them. I really couldn't come up with an answer for this other than I really don't like going to Sixways. You either dice with death walking down a dual carriageway, or walk through a forest to get to a rather soulless stadium. (You have to walk miles to get to Sandy Park, another new stadium on the outskirts, yet it is far from soulless - answer that?!).

I don't know why but i'm not excited by the warriors, would prefer to see Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle in the Premiership TBH (in that order). They are however bringing through some quality players like kitchener, wood mullan and much like leeds a few years back (Crane, Care, Palmer) if they could hang onto thier stars perhaps they could grow into more of a force. I wish them no ill, but i'll never be cheering for them either.

Re: What about Worcester Warriors?
Agree, it is a strange thing about Worcester. Maybe they seem a little like Newcastle of the past few seasons, just a hanger-on type. And appear to have no hope to challenge for anything in the upcoming season(s). Or maybe its just because they seem to me to get less media coverage.
I would like to see Worcester succeed. Nice town, nice enough stadium, great supporters and a truly passionate Rugby fmaily as owners.

Re: What about Worcester Warriors?
A big problem for Worcester in both their stints in the Premiership is the lack of a real quality pivot to direct them. They generally have a decent pack with some finishers out wide but there is a missing link and that has been in the No.10 jersey.

Re: What about Worcester Warriors?
Worcester are a good team that play to their strength and are starting to provide some good English players. They are never going to get into the playoffs but they are a solid lower end of the table side with good set pieces and an efficient attack and defence.
Ones to watch from an English point of view:
Carlisle, Kvesic, Abott and Mullan.

The real question is where are their fans on here? I mean you can probably name atleast one outspoken fan of every team in the Jeff last season, with the exception of Wuss. It seems a bit of a shame.

I think we had a fan join a few months ago, but they were never well represented on the old 606 either.

HK - I can't really think of a time when they were followed. I mean even Connacht had the BouncerIanKeetley and a few others who would be fairly regular posters. I think either 606 has not been doing enough adverising in Worcester or the internet hasn't made it there yet.

I presume the internet must not have made it that far as their ground always seems to have a decent crowd in it.

It can't be IT literacy, as if Glaws can do it anyone can! I think they just can't get any WiFi signal in that forest.
