Kell Brook
The IBF have ordered his next fight be for the mandatory position. How many of these fights will this guy have before challenging for a title?

Re: Kell Brook
i thought that was always the case?? it was reported to be for the mandatory but there was someone else in the way first.
didnt hatton have a few fights to make him mandatory before he got a shot at the IBF?

Re: Kell Brook
Yeah, just seen this reported. He's fighting Hector Saldivia on the 20th of Oct in Sheffileld. The winner going onto fight the winner of the Alexander v Bailey bout.
Don't know much about the Argentine. 32 knockouts in 41 wins so he can obviously bang but l think Brook has had his wobble on the way to a title against Jones - l hope so anyway.

Re: Kell Brook
It wouldn't be a smart move for brook to go into a title fight with Alexander (unless bailey shocks him) on the back of the jones ugly and not seeing if his stamina has improved.
This fight should show us if brooks stamina problems are solved and he should be looking to win this comfortably with a stoppage

Re: Kell Brook
it was never a official eliminator with jones, but it was expected to be due to their respective rankings. another fight before a title shot wont hurt brook, and will probably help him.
i think he still showed star quality last time, just in a different way than normal. i also think he showed a considerable chin as well, which was good to see. he certainly has defensive aspects to work on, i think the stamina issues could have had something to do with the broken nose more than been unfit, as he looked in fantastic shape.
hopefully alexander will win bailey, as thats a more credible world title fight, and i think brook does everything alexander does only better. i see my fellow sheffielder as world champion by this time next year.

alma. You don't like Naseem Hamed. You think Kell Brook is dull. I heard you kicked Johnny Nelson in the shins...
Do you have a problem with people from Sheffield?

He needs to choose his answer extremely carefully.

I would just ban him now. How much evidence do you need.

Re: Kell Brook
It was stated before the Jones fight that the winner would be fighting an eliminator next......
Then again, McCloskey vs Prescott was billed as a WBA Title Eliminator so Hearn does have a history of conning people with his B.S talk.
If Brook doesn't fight either Bailey or Alexander after this fight then he is a "stay at home", "wrapped in cotton wool", "ducker". whatever you want to call him.
There are fighters that would kill to be in his position and would grasp it with both hands, lets hope he does.

Yes, I do agree with that one. He was doing alright until he fought Chisora. Since then, he has ducked and weaved like a cockney barrow boy!

Re: Kell Brook
Think what you are seeing with Fury and a lot of heavyweights at the minute is just killing time waiting for the brothers to retire. Seems almost a given Vitali will be retired this time next year and possibly through old age and a lack of anything to motivate him no reason to think Wlad may not follow him shortly after, suspect most would wait and get in the mix then because lets be honest it could be pass the parcel with the titles.

Is it just me that thinks the HW's could get a bit exciting when the "Pass the title" time comes?

Re: Kell Brook
The one thing I never thought about with Mitchell was that because he was an American Football player he had a college education, you can tell that in his interviews, well spoken and clearly rather smart. Couple this with the fact that for once one of these cross-over sportsmen seems to actually have nice talent and understands the game on a more intellectual level early, he has fair whack at doing something.

Re: Kell Brook
I dont think hearn is as sold on brook as some of the people on here are. seems like he wants to milk as much money out of him as he can before he steps up to world level. i expect he will have at least one more falsely advertised eliminator in sheffield after this one, before they go for a belt. its a tough division after all, and a defeat to alexander or bailey would take away all of kells hype.

Re: Kell Brook
im not complaing as i have been to a couple of his fights, but a bit of experence fighting away from home would help. i imagine the sheff area is quite a money spinner for eddie though.
he definetly has the talent, and i think the jones fight was the perfect wake up call

Agreed definitely has the talent but I'd like to see him have 1 or 2 more fights iron out and address what needs working on and then step in for a title. Brook v Aydin anyone?

Personally I think Jones is better than Aydin, I would love to see Kell take on Guerrero, not next, but a couple of fights down the line.
